an insider told me first solar and sun edison, as well as the cypress subsidiary whose name i forget are the only listed firms in the business. i haven't explored these yet. are any firms in this business worth investing in now?

Well, this CIGS technology looks promising, from what I hear. Even though such solar panels will only have 15% conversion efficiency, they will be very cheap to manufacture. It's worthing noting that except for Germany and Japan, everybody else's solar generation is less than 1% of total power generation.
