Just stumbled upon Sankrant Sanu's neat blog.. Sankrant, who? Well, he authored the most compelling piece ever (my opinion) on how the colonial mindset perpetuates in our country.

The very idea that someone would become a competent doctor, engineer or business professional studying in Hindi or Tamil medium just as they can in Japanese, Hebrew or even Turkish seems somewhat inconceivable in contemporary Indian discourse. 

This notion of the superiority of English also holds sway in Indian social interactions where the “accent” of spoken English has become a key marker in the social hierarchy. “Convent-school” English accent is the highest in this totem pole, followed by “less-refined” private or government school English, down to those that are uncomfortable in the English idiom—and are easily condemned as uncivilized or illiterate. College graduates without “convent-school” English that I interviewed complained of this bias in the job market; even though they may be quite competent in performing the required job. Not surprisingly then, there is a spiraling demand for English and “convent” education. As we discussed in Part I, at least some of this demand is unnaturally created—with explicit bias in state policy in favor of English language higher education.

A book compiled by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's daughter belittling characters of Ramayana has snowballed into a major controversy with the BJP threatening nation-wide stir against it for it "hurting Hindu sentiment".

The book prescribed for second year undergraduate students of the Delhi University dubs Hanuman as the "henchman" of Lord Ram and calls him a "tiny monkey". At one place it portrays Sita as the daughter of Ravana and at another place it accuses Hanuman and Ravana of seducing Sita.

These "derogatory references" are contained in an article titled 'Three hundred Ramayanas: Five examples and three thoughts on translation' that forms part of the book compiled by Prime Minister's daughter, Upinder Singh, who is a professor of ancient history in Delhi University.

"The book has assaulted the religious sentiments of Hindus. This is not tolerable. We would like it to be removed from the course. Else, we would be forced to take it to the streets," BJP's deputy leader in Lok Sabha Vijay Kumar Malhotra said.

Maintaining that the BJP was not against freedom of expression, Malhotra said his party did not want the book to be banned, but only withdrawn from the curriculum.

The article that has agitated many Hindu outfits talks about Ravana conceiving Sita as a result of eating the fruit given by Lord Shiva, which was for his wife Mandodri. Eventually, it says, Ravana gave birth to Sita through nasal sneeze (Sita meaning sneeze in Kannada) and out of public shame left Sita in the fields of king Janak!

M.F Hussain's "art" deliberately injures Hindu religious sentiment by depicting it's deities not just in the nude, but in sexually explicit, unconventional and unacceptable postures. It is not as if Taslima Nasrin depicted any central figure of Islam in the nude or otherwise distasteful manner that would be considered offensive. Therefore, the comparison of the two cases is totally hollow and devoid of any fact, reason or logic.

The UPA dhimmis do not hesitate to arrest the head of PETA for allegedly blindfolding "Mahatma" Gandhi's statue in their protest against "Dravidian" barbarism. Why can't the dhimmis restrain the NDTV stealth christists from lacerating Hindu sentiment by elevating M.F Hussain to the status of a national hero? Is it because they take the intrinsically tolerant and non-violent Hindus for granted and expect them to meekly capitulate in unconditional surrender? In the face of extreme provocation by their enemies and complete inaction by the authorities, a few Hindu nationalists taking vigilante action is justified. There is admittedly a double standard in America, with dhimmi Yanks competing with their Indian counterparts of late in their genuflection to global Islam and rubbishing traditional conservative values. Rather than focusing on the double standards of the American liberals, this christist's poor attempt at satire ends up denigrating Hindus with all the usual idiotic stereotypes.

South Africa school teacher to student: Hindus go to hell

Anyone who has been schooled in a christist institution in India would recognise this as pretty normal behaviour. There is nothing extra-ordinary about this other than the location of the Hindu student being targeted. The Hindu diaspora deserves to be saluted for the effort to keep it's culture alive in places like South Africa, Fiji and the Caribbean.
