Sri Rama is a personification of Hindu Rashtram. Ramo vigrahavaan dharmah, says Valmiki.(Rama is embodiment of dharma). This dharma, what Gautama called esha dhammo sanantano, is the foundation of the Rashtram.

Ayodhya is the locus of the cultural memory of the nation of Bharatam, what Rishi Vishwamitra called bharatam janam. विश्वामित्रस्य रक्षति ब्रह्मेदम भारतं जनम (RV 3.53.12) His prayer, his brahma shall protect the Bharata nation.

ayodhya forecast

sep 29th, 2010

1. whatever the verdict is, both sides will appeal to the supreme court

2. the verdict will be heavily skewed in favor of mohammedans, because the court wants to avoid riots

3. mohammedans will riot anyway. rage boys will run rampant, setting fire to hindu shops etc.

so you better be prepared, take some defensive measures, be vigilant. the kerala government told visiting limey parliamentarians, for instance, to be extremely careful today, fearing trouble.

rage boy alert on sept 30th

sep 29th, 2010

sum and substance: whatever happens in the high court, mohammedans will riot. the rage boys will set fire to all sorts of things in kashmir, probably in hyderabad and malabar -- wherever they are in large numbers.

"Peace" in action

Exemplary "peace", "goodwill",
"communal harmony" on display.

"Swami" Agnivesh, Burka Dutt et al would surely extol this as a fine instance of "composite culture".

Where is Cedric Prakash - inventor of "Gujarat genocide" mythology?

Where is Teesta Setalvad -of the "ghastly rapes" cottage industry?

These worthies will be conspicuously silent. The victim is a mere Hindu.

Didn't you know that "Mahatma"
Ghandy had conceded away the
right of the "Peace" party to perpetrate such acts of "brotherhood" way back in the
1920's, in the interest of "preserving age old amity"?
I can't seem to remember -
Was the undertaking part of the Lucknow pact? Or was it a principle in Chacha Nehru's doctrine of Panchsheel?

Notice how the TOIlet paper attempts to minimize and negate
the atrocity by describing the victim as "Dalit", i.e. as distinct from "Hindu".

Two Dalit girls gangraped near Delhi

UN Seat for Kashmir offer from o'bummer; nobel peace prize too, probably

sep 27th, 2010

it's official now, the mother of all frauds from the original snake-oil salesmen.

the manchurian will offer the 'honest, decent' (TM) one a deal he cannot refuse:

a. security council seat (with conditions, such as no veto)
b. nobel peace prize

in return for (drum roll......)

kashmir is given to the ISI!!!

and you want to bet the 'deal' will be accepted with open arms?

jai ho! all the jaichands will rush to tell us why this is the right thing to do.

so o'bummer will have his foreign policy victory, the ISI will be happy for about ten minutes and then will demand hyderabad and junagadh, and the 'leaders' and the ELM will extol this as the greatest peace initiative since, since, well... chamberlain said "we have peace in our time".

and nobody will ask the obvious question: "if it's so easy for the yanks to give india the security council seat, why haven't they done it so far?"

of course the answer is: "no, the yanks cannot give india the security council seat. the hans will veto it".

in the end, india will give up j&k, and the yanks will say, "but, we tried. we couldn't get you the seat because china wouldn't allow it". or, "china only agrees to a non-veto, second-class membership for india". or, "china says india can be in the security council only when pakistan is also in the security council:".

let us remember that when the asian seat was offered to india, the wise one's response was: "give the seat to china first". now china is returning the compliment and saying, "give the seat to pakistan first". oh yes, famous negotiation tactics.

this is yet another himalayan blunder, like the 'nuclear deal'.

end result: ISI will transfer j&k to china and move its storm troopers into UP, kerala, hyderabad, etc.

WASHINGTON: Go for a Kashmir solution and help bring stability to the region for a ticket to UN Security Council membership and fulfilling your big power aspirations. That's the broad message President Barack Obama will be bringing to New Delhi during his upcoming November visit to India, preparation for which are in full swing in Washington DC.

The Kashmir settlement-for-seat at high table idea (euphemism for UNSC membership) is being discussed animatedly in the highest levels of the US administration, according to a various sources. President Obama himself has decided to revive the process of a US push in this direction, albeit discreetly, because of New Delhi's sensitivities.

Rayana R Khazi, from a small town in Kasargod district in north Kerala, is unlike any other 22-year-old girl.

Unlike other girls in her village, she traveled to Chennai to pursue her dream of becoming an aeronautical engineer.

She is now preparing for the civil services examination and wants to be an Indian Administrative Services officer.

But she confronts death threats from fundamentalists in her community and been forced to stay home.

The reason: Rayana refuses to cover her head and wear a burqa.

sep 27th, 2010

pretty intriguing. from good morning silicon valley:

"An electronic war has been launched against Iran."

— Mahmoud Liayi, head of the information technology council at Iran's ministry of industries, on a worm that has infected the computer systems at that country's first nuclear power plant. The Stuxnet worm, which also has been found in India and Indonesia, targets SCADA(supervisory control and data acquisition) systems, such as utilities or other infrastructure controls, by exploiting security holes in Microsoft's Windows. Security researchers from Symantec and Kaspersky Lab disagree about when the Stuxnet worm first attacked (January or July), but they do agree that its scope and sophistication — and whose existence is referred to by a Forbescontributing writer as a "game-changer" — make it likely that it was government-backed, according toComputerworld. A cybersecurity expert quoted by theWall Street Journal says suspects include the U.S., U.K., and Israel.

Muslim shoots Hindu police sub-inspector dead near Nilambur (Malappuram)

sep 27th, 2010

this excited no breathless commentary in the media.

just imagine the fuss there would have been if the reverse had been true, and a hindu criminal shot and killed a mohammedan police officer.

this is the state of the art in india. a mohammedan can do anything to a hindu and get away with it.

incidentally after two weeks, there is absolutely no cry for justice. the poor hindu man's family is grieving for him, that's all. and then they will probably get a pittance from the government.

meanwhile the stone-throwing terrorists in jammu-kashmir who died in police firing are being given rs. 500,000 as compensation.

Staff Reporter, Sep 13, 2010

MALAPPURAM: A police sub-inspector who went to the house of an accused to serve him an arrest warrant was shot dead at Chokkad, near Nilambur, on Sunday. Vijaya Krishnan, 53, Grade Sub-Inspector of the Kalikavu police station, was shot on the chest with a country-made rifle. He died on the way to hospital.

The police team reached his house with the warrant at 12.45 p.m. after he refused to respond to the calls from the police station.

Rahman shot at the police team from the first floor of his house. Vijaya Krishnan was felled by the first shot. The accused ran away and escaped into the forests.

Senior police officers including Additional Director-General of Police Mahesh Kumar Singla and Inspector-General B.S. Mohammed Yasin visited the spot.

Of late whatever happens in India is very sad and extremely painful.

Why should innocent animals die for the errors of the mankind?

Two elephant calves got caught in the railway track. Five adult elephants rushed to save them. Sadly and unfortunately all the seven elephants died crushed under a goods train.

The goods train had surpassed the permitted speed limit.

So, who must be punished?

The Prime Minister?

Or the Railway Minister?

Or the Environment  Minister?

Or the Forest Minister?

Or the Train Driver?

Or the Signal Man?

Or the entire Congress led government?

Please sign the petition...

Dear friends across India,

Seven elephants were killed this week by a speeding train. But this terrible slaughter could have been prevented. Only a deafening outcry from citizens will push the Railway Minister to enforce safety measures and protect our elephants -- sign the urgent petition now:
Shockingly, seven helpless elephants were mowed down this week by a speeding goods train. But this terrible slaughter could have been prevented.

The massacre site in Jalpaiguri is a designated jumbo corridor where railway drivers are required to provide safe crossing to the elephants. Negligent train drivers have killed 150 elephants in India since 1987 despite the Environment Minster and the elephant task force repeatedly calling for the Railway Ministry to enforce safety measures. Only a deafening outcry from citizens across our country could push the Railway Minister to act.

It is time to put an end to this carnage. The two Ministers meet next week to discuss concrete measures to protect elephants. Let's build a massive movement to protect our elephants. Sign the petition to the Railway Minister Mamata Bannerjee calling on her to hold those responsible to account and immediately enforce crucial elephant protection measures -- it will be delivered directly to the Minister:

http://www.avaaz.org/en/india_stop_elephant_slaughter/?vl

Elephants are highly intelligent and sensitive animals. They never abandon their injured and dead, and last week the whole herd was killed as they tried to save two calves injured on the track. But this slaughter is totally avoidable -- elephant paths are well known to the railway drivers and they always cross by night and can be spotted from a distance, if the trains are moving at the right speed.

Our wild elephants are already under siege from poachers, but the elephant task force has devised simple measures to protect them from trains: make drivers accountable for their actions, place speed governors on trains in sensitive areas, enforce patrolling along the tracks, stop the movement of good trains at night in elephant corridors and enforce strict safety measures in the 88 elephants corridors.

The Environment Minister has expressed outrage about this latest tragedy -- he was about to declare elephants our national heritage animal and announce the creation of a National Conservation Authority to ensure their protection. Let's support the Environment Minister and send a powerful signal to the Railway Minister that India demands immediate action before we lose one more elephant.

http://www.avaaz.org/en/india_stop_elephant_slaughter/?vl

Throughout our history our elephants have been revered. It is now up to all of us to ensure their urgent protection from this brutal and senseless slaughter. Sign the petition now:

Kalmadi isn't the only one to blame for CWG mess by Virendra Kapoor in Rediff + How Delgi Govt favored a Delhi based builder

sep 26th, 2010

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: sanjeevnayyar

Now that Kalmadi has been shown the door sections of the media are making it as sound as if things would improve because he is no longer at the helm of affairs. I am no fan of Kalmadi or M S Gill but it is not right to crucify one man and leave the others.
Question to ask is 'Is Kalmadi the only man responsible for the mess'. This article by Virendra Kapoor was published a month ago in Rediff.
It must be a joke that India's Sports minister M S Gill is 70 plus and a former Chief Election Commissioner. What are the skills that be brought to the table for organizing CGames. One more reason why CG became a mess.
If the PM of a nation with a billion people has to get involved in organizing CGames it speaks volumes of his leadership qualities and management talent at his disposal.
Rgds sanjeev

Kalmadi isn't the only one to blame for CWG mess
Officially, Suresh Kalmadi [ Images ] had only Rs 6.7 billion to play around with as the Commonwealth Games [ Images ] boss.

As against this, Sheila Dikshit's government was allocated Rs 16.56 billion to upgrade the capital's infrastructure in time for the Games, notes Virendra Kapoor.

They may have virtually stripped Suresh Kalmadi of all powers as the chairman of the Organising Committee, Commonwealth Games, but he still continues to be its titular head.

And that way, Kalmadi serves a very useful purpose insofar as various ills of omission and commission of all others deeply connected with the preparations of the Delhi [ Images ] Games are best shielded from a prying media and an angry public seeking accountability and transparency.

So, whether it is Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit or Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy, Kalmadi's continuance as the notional head of the organising committee helps to make him a scapegoat while everyone else gets away by default.

Come to think of it, Kalmadi as the head of the OC had only a small fraction of the funds at his disposal to fool around with while Dikshit and Reddy control huge chunks of money earmarked for the Games.
