- Obama: "Rahul Gandhi has a nervous, unformed quality about him like a student eager to impress the teacher but deep down lacking the aptitude or the passion to master the subject".
- Amazon is everyone's antitrust target: Germany, Italy and India are investigating Amazon over unfair practices. . . . EU hits Amazon with antitrust charges. A huge fine could follow.

Quick notes: Green sipahi, US spying proves costly...
- Green sipahi to growth juggler: “Main Dilli mein aapka sipahi hoon (I am your soldier in Delhi),” Rahul had told tribal residents in March 2008 when he visited the Niyamgiri hills where tribals were protesting against a bauxite mining project. His comments today were a far cry from the “sipahi” clarion call he had given in Odisha.

Rahul's Defeat
What the people have voted against is not corruption alone, but also the idea that a centralised group in Delhi can determine what the people should consider to be their rights, and then enforce them. The voters have told Rahul Gandhi in the strongest possible terms that if he really believes in the rights-based approach, he should at least let the people decide what their rights should be.Narendra Pani: A vote against Rahul Gandhi's legislation-based approach to governance.

I wasn't too happy with the knee-jerk references to "Hitler", so I posted some of my own remarks in the comments section to throw a few thunderbolts at them. Please feel free to post your comments there too - but please try to keep them focused and credible. Persuasion will accomplish more than mere convulsions. There are some sober points to consider from the article too.
