Quick notes: Auto jobs | Army pensions...

  • Job losses coming to auto-sector: A combustion-engine car has 1,400 components in the motor, exhaust system and transmission. An EV’s battery and electric motor has only 200 components. The average IC engine takes about 3.5 hours to make, while an electric motor takes about 1 hour.. Around 410,000 German jobs are at risk by 2030.

  • Vengeful CM: Kia looking to move $1.1 billion plant out of Yesu's Andhra.

  • India's Missile Defense: China says India can’t build an effective missile defense system. "Inadequate capital, unsmooth R&D process, heavy reliance on other countries for key technology and incomplete systems"

  • Pension burden: Army to spend more on pensions than on salaries. Rs 111,294 crore for army salaries, Rs 113,278 crore for army pensions. Funds that could otherwise go towards equipment modernisation

  • Ashtavakra Gita: It is in the infinite ocean of myself that the mind-creation called the world takes place.

  • Be Modern and Use Sanskrit to Decolonize Your Mind: Sanskrit is an analytical and a holistic language. It is both argumentative and sacred. It is good for singing and reciting. It is a wonderful tool to liberate from two of the most pressing problems of the modern world: addiction and depression. Be modern and use Sanskrit to decolonize your mind.

Quick notes: Electronics makers | Battery swap...

  • Capitalizing on trade war: “There is one other monster country that has a huge domestic market, India, but they have got to get moving. There is no time to waste in catching that new wave and in fact the question is: Have they already missed it?"

  • Indian Made Electronics: A mere 700,000 electronics manufacturing jobs have been created since Make in India started. Skilled workers such as industrial designers are in short supply, and there isn't yet much of a supplier network providing crucial components such as batteries, semiconductors and processors. "India is not there yet. But things are beginning to fall in place."

  • MNCs ripping off: A CPU purchased from an Intel Authorized Distributor costs 2.6x as much as the same would from a reseller in the U.S

  • Free battery swapping: Chinese EV maker Nio is waiving the fees for something that could be a real selling point in the EV market: battery swapping.

  • T.N.’s first public electric bus: The vehicle will be operated on a ‘battery swap’ basis and can run a maximum of 40 km with a fully charged battery.

  • Hindu girl in Japan: 15 yr old Japanese Girl Nadya Chants Rudram by heart in perfection ( Sathya Sai Baba Veda Poshana )

  • Indumathi D: The woman scientist behind India's proposed neutrino observatory

  • Urdu, the other colonial language: Put this on the agenda next -- replace Urdu with Kashmiri

  • K-pop in India: With the expansion of Korean culture, many Korean stores are coming up.

  • Millets: superfood to tackle malnutrition: After having lost out to commercial crops such as rice, wheat, and corn in the past, the resurgence of millets can also be attributed to the fact that they are climate resilient.

  • American Factory: The film perfectly captures the escalating workplace cultural divides between the American workers and their Chinese managers: A Chinese worker asks a visiting Chinese-speaking US colleague if workers in Ohio really get eight days off a month, telling him workers in Fuqing production lines only get one or two days off a month, and work 12 hours a day.

Neodämmerung

“Neodämmerung” from Matrix Revolutions

From the unreal (delusion) lead me to the real (truth).
From the darkness lead me to the light.
From death lead me to immortality.
    -- Brihad Aranyaka (1.3.28)

Pursuing both Vidya and Avidya, he overcomes death by transcending them -- Isha Upanishad (11)   .. (pursuing Vidya alone leads to pride/delusion)

In him are woven the sky and the earth and all the regions of the air.
And in him rest the mind and all the powers of life.
Know him as the One and leave aside all other words.
He is the bridge of immortality -- Mundaka Upanishad (2.2.5)

Beyond the senses is the mind, and beyond the mind is reason, its essence. Beyond reason is the Spirit in man, and beyond this is the Spirit of the Universe, the evolver of all. -- Katha Upanishad (6.7)

When the five senses and the mind are still. And reason itself rests in silence, then begins the Path supreme -- Katha Upanishad (6.10)

And when he is seen in his immanence and transcendence, then the ties that have bound the heart are unloosened. The doubts of the mind vanish, and the law of Karma works no more -- Mundaka Upanishad (2.2.8)
