An Islamic "jihad" is an effort by Muslims to convince "others to take up worthy causes, such as funding medical research," according to a middle school textbook used in California and other states.deleted
And even at its most violent, "jihad" simply is Muslims fighting "to protect themselves from those who would do them harm," says the "History Alive! The Medieval World and Beyond" book published by Teachers' Curriculum Institute.

One of those experts who contributed to the text, according to the American Textbook Council, which released a scathing indictment of the project, is Ayad Al-Qazzaz.
"Al-Qazzaz is a Muslim apologist, a frequent speaker in Northern California school districts promoting Islam and Arab causes," the ATC review said. "Al-Qazzaz also co-wrote AWAIR's 'Arab World Notebook.' AWAIR stands for Arab World and Islamic Resources, an opaque, proselytizing 'non-profit organization' that conducts teacher workshops and sells supplementary materials to schools."
An Islamist is invited to contribute to a history textbook and he predictably advances the usual negationist propaganda that is typical of Islamists when they are yet to reach critical mass. It is only when Hindu religion and history are concerned that hostile neo-Nazi christist evangelical ideologues like Michael Witzel et al are allowed to insert their derogatory material into school text books. It is only Hindus who have no say in how they're depicted and organisations like CAPEEM have to wage a struggle to ensure a fair narrative. Now, is that a transparent double standard or what?

The reason this problem occurs is because Hindus do not know that the rules of the game in kaliyuga have changed.
Truth is irrelevant.
In kaliyuga, right or wrong is decided by either how much money you have or how much destruction you can wreak.
America will sing peans of islam and peace because if they don't, they will have explosions and suicide bombs on their hands.
America also cannot upset jews, for example, because it will have serious implications for their financial sector.
Fortunately, Hindus in america have enough clout and power. They just don't know it, and don't know how to use it.
Blame it on being colonised, but we still do not realise that we're now in a position to *set* rules.
We don't have to merely follow them.
The shameless capitulation in australia (ref. Harbhajan) was an example. India could have screwed both the aussied and the ICC, but we meekly chose to play by their rules.
Consciousness about this has to be raised -- blogs like this are a good place to start!
it's kind of a hanuman syndrome. hindus, like the young hanuman, do not know their power. (ref the story of baby hanuman leaping up to grab the rising sun thinking it was a big red fruit).
