Uncle Sam's Ship Sinking?

There's of course a lot of talk on the ballooning sub-prime crisis, as its list of casualties grows ever larger. So is this a good time to be hitching oneself to Uncle Sam's wagon-train? Some argue that it's best to decouple one's economic activities from the US, because the US will be entering into a severe and protracted rececession within a matter of months. India of course is not as heavily exposed to the US market as so many others, mainly due to our own muddling economic progress. Sort of a fortunate accident, rather than by clever design.

Most good things in India post-1947are fortunate accidents. I dont think anything has come about by clever design so far.
