Pope Warns Against Nuclear Proliferation

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Benedict XVI said divisions and conflicts "cast dark shadows" on the future of humanity, warning of the danger coming from more countries possessing nuclear weapons.

He urged authorities to step up negotiations for a "progressive and mutually agreed dismantling of existing nuclear weapons."

"Humanity today is unfortunately experiencing great division and sharp conflicts which cast dark shadows on its future," Benedict said in his annual message to world leaders .............Cardinal Renato Martino, who presented the pope's message at a news conference, was asked if the pope was referring to concerns raised by Iran's nuclear program.

He said "you could imagine" the message referred to current issues but added that "the Holy See never makes specific reference but brings up the problem."

LMAO alert. Ratzy wearing the non-proliferation cap. Is it just me or does anyone else see a little contradiction in this posturing by the head of one of the most violent, genocidal imperialistic death cults to have plagued humankind? Agreed that nukes in the hands of crazed mullahs in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran etc is a disconcerting thought. But, who actually used nukes in their infinite compassion? Huh? And wasn't Germany a more justifiable target than Japan after the Nazi holocaust of the Jews? No wait, the Vatican was complicit in that holocaust and Germany was/is a White, Christian country, hence not much of a dilemma there. Huh, Ratzy?

Also to be noted is Ratzy's reticence about specifics when issuing these dark warnings. Pray, which countries was he referring to? The Mohammedans would predictably beat up a few padres (like they did after Ratzy's "Faith vs Reason" statement, despite his pathetic apologies); therefore a careful avoidance of naming Mohammedan countries.
But, Ratzy never hesitates to not only name India, specifically, but also issue routine, gratuitous advice about "religious freedom", specifically in India and openly and shamelessly call for "harvests of faith", all very specifically in India. What a hypocrite!!!

Incidentally, what is the Vatican's position on India as a de facto nuclear weapon state? It is likely very similar to the rigid position of the Non-proliferation Ayatollahs in Washington DC. Ratzy wants to cap, rollback and eliminate (even crucify, if that were possible) India's strategic deterrent.
