A Hindu Nationalist Perspective
Rajeev - did you see the message posted byHameed Haroon.CEO & Publisher,DAWN Group of Newspaperson your article - it is the first message right nowhttp://www.rediff.com/news/2007/apr/03rajeev.htm
It is also available on the Dawn website athttp://www.dawn.com/events/appendix/appendix.htmI did not know you had a readership in Pakistan Rajeev - or perhaps Haroon wants to use your blog to yank the Indian eyelids open.THERE IS NO FREEDOM OF PRESS IN PAKISTAN. TV STATIONS ARE SMASHED AND JOURNALISTS MAGICALLY DISAPPEAR AND SHOW UP DEADThe case of Hayat Ullah Khan is well knownhttp://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/taliban/tribal/hayatullah.htmlDawn is not bad though I prefer to get my fill of Pakistan from Najam Sethi's paper www.dailytimes.com.pkThey both have Irfan Husain who is a reassuringly sobering voice.
Guys, read carefully. The DAWN guy Haroon hasn't addressed his message to Rajeev. His letter was posted as an excerpt by somebody else as a comment on Rajeev's article on rediff.
aaah - quite right KapiDhwaja. for a minute it had me excited. The point about beaten and dead Pakistani journalists is still true though!!!!
