Infrared Cooking?

I'm not one to fall for telemarketing or infomercials, but lately I've been hearing a lot about infrared oven cooking. Apparently, it's got the speed and controllability of microwave cooking, but works through radiative heat like conventional cooking. It's not based on water excitation from microwave oscillation, and so it won't dry out your food, plus you can use metal pans, etc without problem. So I've heard it cooks twice as fast as a regular oven, will start cooking instantly like a microwave without any preheating required, and it uses 85% less energy than a regular oven. With India being so lean on energy, maybe something like this would benefit Indian households.

I just want to know if anyone's tried it, and whether it's as good as they say, or just a lot of marketing hype.
