amazing story.
so what happened to him on the beach in goa? what scared him so deeply? was he doing something illegal?
and if he was abducted, why did his captors allow him to make an international call? and why did nobody take the $600 he had in his pocket, or think to shred his passport? makes no sense.

although i have to say i had a nervous-making incident on the goan beach at calangute. i was feverish and sick, but i went to the ATM to get some money; then i took what i thought was a short cut back to the hotel. at dusk i was walking up and down the beach amongst all those beach shacks, unable to find my way back from the beach. it took me a while to get my bearings and get back. i tried following a cow wandering home, then found it was making its way through that thorn-shrub that grows all over; no way a person could weave through that stuff although i have seen cattle (and deer in the IIT Madras campus) walk through nonchalantly.

I am sure this shall always be a black mark on indian tour across the uk and other parts of the world.
It is nothing but lack of knowledge of those villager which was the main coz of this incident.
