wow! if true, fantastic news for a makara sankranti! i hope there will be further excavations etc.
i am a little sceptical about this news item because i remember being near the sugriva cave: it is a huge, sunbaked, bare rock right there. not exactly the most optimal location for a university.
vijayanagar was indeed a citadel of civilization. no wonder the barbarians hated it so much.

I recently watched second season of a show on Showtime (USA) called Sleeper Cell. It was freaking amazing. I missed first season and I will try to find first season DVDs and watch it. I really wish they show this show in Inida. Plot is that an African American Muslim infiltrate a terror cell in first season try to blow away Dodger Stadium and in second season, terrorists try to set off "dirty bombs". Guess where they got their enriched uranium rods from? Yes your neighborhood terror shop in Paki. Very well made show.
