thank you very much, kapidhwaja. do you have a (permanent) URL for this? i'd like to quote this piece in a column i am writing.
i had heard about vibrant gujarat but didnt realize that it was such a huge success.
i was in ahmedabad some time ago, and i was struck by the new departure lounge in the airport terminal: a very nice one, with the best bathrooms (gleaming, spotless, 5-star-hotel class).
the fact that modi's tenure is so succesful has a lot to do with the fact that he has kept close tabs on mohammedan mischief-makers.
also, in 2002, he did far more to quell disturbances than rajiv gandhi did in 1984 after the indira gandhi murder: but the marxist media does not give him credit. he is their worst nightmare: a hindu and a nationalist who is also bringing jobs and wealth to his state, brutally exposing the hollowness of their slogans, while bengal and kerala slide further down the drain.

Congress will be trying to acquire all the development for free just like it reaped the fruits of India shining in 2004. Posters here aren't perhaps familiar with the news that Congress grabbed many councils in Gujarat in elections a few months ago. Without a drastic change in the mindset of common Hindu voter, and without a properly oiled propaganda machine, creating wealth is like placing the treasure vault in the open. Congress merely thinks of tactics, not of the nation, please note.
