NATO commanders expose Musharraf's lie

i have long maintained that the taliban are simply pakistani soldiers who exchanged their uniform for the baggy pants and black turbans of the fundamentalist militia.

Commanders from five Nato countries whose troops have just fought the bloodiest battle with the Taliban in five years, are demanding their governments get tough with Pakistan over the support and sanctuary its security services provide to the Taliban.

Nato's report on Operation Medusa, an intense battle that lasted from September 4-17 in the Panjwai district, demonstrates the extent of the Taliban's military capability and states clearly that Pakistan's Interservices Intelligence (ISI) is involved in supplying it.

Gen Musharraf this week admitted that "retired" ISI officers might be involved in aiding the Taliban, the closest he has come to admitting the agency's role.

WASHINGTON: Pakistan is in the crosshairs of western military commanders as the source, supplier and instigator of terrorism, notwithstanding periodic certifications from the Bush administration that is a frontline ally in the war on terror.

Commanders from five Nato countries – the US, Britain, Denmark, Canada and Holland -- whose troops have just fought the bloodiest battle with the Taliban in five years, are demanding their governments get tough with Pakistan over the support and sanctuary its security services provide to the Taliban, according to Ahmad Rashid, a prominent Pakistani analyst and author of an well-known book on Taliban.

Every time you hear a nukelar expert blame these tests as a result of world being soft on India after its nuke tests-- have a tequilla shot.
