the chinese,... er north korean nuclear test

oct 9th, 2006

this is a 'welcome to the neighborhood' sign for japan's new prime minister abe, who should respond by tearing up the pacifist constitution and starting his own nuclear program, in collaboration with india.

it is a not-so-veiled threat that china will continue to proliferate.

next candidate to join the nuclear club: bangladesh, another chinese protege.

and of course the yanks will now cancel the nuclear deal with india. that would be like "thank god for small mercies!"

Welcome to Abe indeed it is.
Have you wondered how the Non-proliferation wallahs in America are already blaming being soft on the Indian tests as the reason for this 'brazen' (a Chinese phrase) act? The US will go ahead and kill the nuke deal for sure. How come nobody talks of the People's Republic when it comes to proliferating nukes? China the great strategist wins again.
It has used fundamentalist Islam against India and the West and now presented Kim-boy to kick Japan in the shins.
On the question of nuke deals - how come nobody in the English Liberal press mentions that Japan as a HUGE nuke-power infrastructure and Plutonium stock-piles? Why not just cut a deal with Nippon for supplying nuclear-power plants?

China has about 20 ICBMs pointing at Uncle Sam. (These are the known numbers. I am sure they have more than that.) Every few years some random Chinese General publicly talks of nuking San Franciso, whenever the issue of Taiwan is raised.

In other words, China has the will and capacity to nuke Uncle. Can you imagine any Indian leader emulating the Chinese? Not for atleast the next 20 years.

The Non-proliferation wallahs and other sundry dogs will stop barking the day we learn to growl.
