i am not a sympathiser of terrorists. and i certainly had no hand in
the release of the gentlemen you have listed. perhaps you should
direct your ire at the bjp who should explain why they freed the
trio.

Here's the letter I wrote to him:

Hi Jawed,

I read with interest your article on Dawn. I've got a question though. Why don't you show the same zeal to Sarabjit (http://ia.rediff.com/news/2006/mar/09sarab1.htm) as you show to Afzal? Is it because he's not a fellow Muslim, or is there a deeper reason I'm missing? It appears to me that his case is far shallower than Afzal's. Maybe it's easier to pontificate to others and more difficult to realize one's own problems.

The redoubtable Sandhya Jain on the 'Animals Rights' industry in India - the industry that wakes up only when the offending rituals are Hindu.
All these worthies have no problems with slowly cutting the throat of a Bakri - slowly - so that it suffers and bleeds at Bakri Id. A huge case of Moral Relativism.
Personally - I think the case is best handled by the instrument of Moral Suasion on the part of the religious leadership such as Jayendra Saraswati etc. As long as the temple is not violating the law - it cannot be the case of the state to intervene. It cannot be the state that tells the Hindu's that they are 'perverting' the Hindu message ( I believe that by sacrificing animals they are) - it has to be the job of the religious leadership.
