google grows a spine too re. hans

jan 12th, 2010

may miracles never cease! maybe, just maybe, manmohan singh will get a vertebra implant, too. ghostwriter, we can only hope -- hope springs eternal.

in effect, google is saying "up yours" to the almighty hans. whatever will n ram say now? let us remember that google has been jumping through hoops to accommodate han demands of special treatment (so like mohammedan exceptionalism).

maybe google found out that there is really no money to be made in china, all the "1 billion consumer" garbage notwithstanding. most foreign companies find that even if they grovel to the hans, allowing their IPR to be stolen, at the end of the day any profits are siphoned off by their required local collaborators/intermediaries. in that sense, indian operations are far more profitable for MNCs.

Why should India follow the West's copyright laws?

Look at how India's classical literary works were composed, there is no concept of 'ownership' as the west would have it.

This move by google is purely on the IDEOLOGICAL whim of the california liberals, seeing that the US has survived part of the economic storm it believes that the US and the West is more than sufficient for its revenue base. Of course once the western economies collapse, it will be google's loss.
