IIT Madras: Saarang 2010 is happening!

jan 16th, 2010
in case anybody feels like checking out the erstwhile mardi gras. i did once or twice, and found other old fogeys like me eyeing the nubile maidens with bad intent (apologies to jethro tull, aqualung).
big differences from my days (yes, those ante-deluvian days) -- the kids have figured out how to get sponsorships, so they have money, and the place is plastered with advertising.
something that remains the same: the boys still don't know how to chat up the cute girls who show up from bangalore and delhi and so on :-) poor social skills, still. sigh. plus ca change...
ignore all the "give us money" stuff, although i am glad iit/m is doing this -- it's still pretty mellow compared to the shrieking and tugging-at-heartstrings american universities do to try and wring some loose change from alumni wallets.

We will have the tickets ready for pick-up at Office of Alumni Affairs by Jan 20.

There are only 50 seats available for each show, so hurry up. It will be first-come, first-served....

If you cannot make it to Saarang, you still have an opportunity to receive Saarang souvenirs (T-shirts, caps, ....). All donors to GJAF before Jan 31 will receive one....
