A Hindu Nationalist Perspective
a good article. but we have to remember that whatever the other faults of pakistan is they are on the few muslim countries or even one of the few non-western countries to have a free, independent press.
Apollo, I think you're due back on planet Earth now.
There must be many others in Pakistan and other Islamic countries who have similar views to those expressed in this article. One of these voices has now become audible simply because of the invisible pressure of public opinion that has built up consequent to 9/11. It is important to understand this pressure. We must bring a similar pressure to bear on Indian media. I am sure the media will have to mould in very near future.
iamfordemocracy said:they are on the few muslim countries or even one of the few non-western countries to have a free, independent press.Perhaps you should have a dekko at this: The bloggers’ blockExcerpt: "The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) instituted a block on a number of ‘blasphemous’ websites. One of them was a blog website and the PTA ended up blocking all the blogs posted on the page, writes Mamun Adil"
One of the best sites critiquing Islam is Annaqed - "The Critic"The creator of the site is Dr. Wafa Sultan, a Syrian-American psychiatrist. She orginally only had Arabic content but added English content after 9/11.She is quite notorious: try googling her name!
I have read Mazdak's article for the past 7 or 8 years and have found that he is one of the sanest writers I have seen in newspapers. He has always been forthright in his views about Musharaf, Islam, 9/11 and everything else. This article from him is no surprise.
