IMF Refuses to Resume Bailout for Pak

The IMF is refusing to continue with its bailout for Pakistan. Perhaps Pakistan should first think about signing the Fissile Material Cutoff Treaty.

The casino economy is finally coming into shape. Now big core sector companies want to enter banking. Will they more or less exit the core sector like GE did?

This means the Pakis are smart and wanted real money as loan, not transfer of wealth to American non-profits for conducting "awareness campaigns" about AIDs and to American corporations for building a hundred wooden sheds (schools) and claiming that each shed had cost $10 million dollars and so they helped the Pakis with $1B in loans.

Of all people on earth, Indians are the most foolish and naive when it comes to foreign organizations. Due to his inferiority complex, Vajpayee once gave away real money to USA in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and felt proud that he allegedly was not from a country populated by beggars. Similarly, he wanted India to be a donor nation to IMF and wanted to transfer money from Indians to the American and European bureaucrats who would have used the money to continue with their fraudulent schemes.

That's quite astute; the IMF is most certainly reflecting the US's pique at Pak's intransigence over the fissile cutoff treaty. In a related news, Pakistan has apparently surpassed Britain to possess the 5th largest nuclear arsenal, and they are frenetically adding more toys to their chest. From India's perspective I suppose that it doesn't matter whether they have 60 or 100 nukes. However, for the US this has to be of great concern since it makes it all the more likely that the Pakis will sell their surplus to the Saudis and eventually restart the AQ Khan (synonymous with the Pak military) proliferation network. These are pan-Islamic (Sunni) nukes that are currently being manufactured by Pakistan.

A Brand New Rs. 2 lakh Crore Spectrum Scam.. And This Time It Is The PMO

The CAG has started inquiries into a 2005 agreement between ISRO's commercial arm Antrix Corporation Ltd. and Devas Multimedia Private Ltd. The agreement relates to ISRO's launching of two satellites for Devas but automatically bestows on the latter a large hidden benefit: unbridled use of 70 MHz of the scarce S-band spectrum over a 20-year period.

ISRO is under the Department of Space (DoS), which is directly in the Prime Minister's charge.

China suffers worst drought in 60 years

The unusual drought has even hit some places that traditionally enjoy a humid climate. Land is drying out, and the crops are dying. Many in the area, are now suffering a temporary drinking water shortage - which must come as something of a shock, in an area that rarely experiences such problems.
