The bigger joke about this award is the fact that he accepted it only in 2008.

"Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was on Tuesday conferred the Jawaharlal Nehru Award for International Understanding for his “unique role in providing stability and progress to his country, in upholding the Arab cause, in promoting peace and understanding in the region.”

Mr. Mubarak was given the 1995 award only now as attempts to arrange for his bilateral visit could not materialise on three occasions."

OT: The army chief, General V.K. Singh, said the army has 'not yet' received the necessary orders from the government on firing in self-defence at the Maoists. 'We asked what do we do if we are engaged by Naxals. If such a thing (attack) happens, surely somebody (any Roy, Sen, Ghosh, xyz'erjee from JNU ...) is going to charge my troops of murder'.
