Darul (OR dar ul) uloom deoband is said to be a university, and Vastanvi is said to be its Vice-Chancellor. I searched for Darul, dar, ul, uloom or deoband in lists of Indian universities, but failed to find any in the lists. Can someone enlighten me? In any case, does UGC Act or any other statute provide for a seminary to be given the status of a university?
