[GHHF] Hindus are in constant danger - Pilgrims attacked and were Arrested by Police

... And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure. -- Thomas Jefferson, November 13, 1787, letter to William Stephens Smith, quoted in Padover's Jefferson On Democracy

All the Hindus should take up the task of preserving and upholding the liberty, responsibility and independence. If we fail in taking active part in preserving the god given liberty, our liberty will be deprived, denied and usurped. If we loose our liberty, we are like a dead tree. No growth. Listed below are three news items for you to ponder and see if you feel the pain. As Thomas Jefferson said if we do not warn and remind the leaders, we will be choked to death.

   – first one is about government efforts to save one Mosque in West Bengal at the cost of crores of rupees,

---  second one is about the destruction and defacing of  numerous Hindu Temples in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

----- third one is about the brutal attack on Hindu pilgrims by 5000 to 6000 Muslims injuring numerous Hindus.

The government at the Centre is trying it's best to dredge, break and destroy the national monument – Ram Sethu while trying to save 1200 square feet mosque by spending crores of rupees. The government would not pursue cases against the terrorist who bombed  Hindu Temples such as Akshardham, and Hanuman Temple,  TN government would allow the pillage of Temples and breaking of the Murthies in the Temples, AP government would blow up a Hindu Temple to accommodate Golf course, the so called "secular" Central government would increase the Hajj subsidy to additional 14,000 Muslims, AP government would introduce a legislation to send Christians to Jerusalem, all the southern states would  loot Hind Temple's money to give it Christians and Moslems, and some states would even pass laws to protect the Church lands while  Hindu Temple land are auctioned and sold at a nominal price.

On June 12, 2008, about 5000 to 6000 Muslims attacked the on  members of the Hindu Samhati at Ganga Sagar, a famous place of Hindu pilgrimage in West Bengal

State and Central governments, legal system, law enforcement agencies are all anti- Hindus. They will intimidate even the Hindu leaders on false charges, arrest them, summon them and imprison them.

We have to recognize that there is a concerted effort to destabilize the country, terrorizing Hindus, bombing religious places dear to Hindus and pampering the minorities for political advantage. It is a shame that all the MLAs and MPs who constitute nearly 70 percent of the parliament at state and central government would not even say a word about the atrocities committed on Hindus and look other side to all the favors accorded to minorities at the expense of Hindus.

Many Hindus do not even recognize the impending danger to the survival of Hinduism. We are in deep slumber. We have to wake up. Challenge the authority of the government's role in damaging the Hindu way of life. If we do not wake up soon, we will loose your freedom to totalitarian way of life. You will be gagged and dragged. No body is left to support you and hear you.

If we cannot protect our own religion, who will protect us? No body can be blamed for our indifference, neglect, apathy, coldness, and total carelessness. It is in your hands to make a difference and reversing the trend. You have more power than you think. YOU ALONE CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.  Please wake up to the reality – reality is that Hinduism is being attacked by secularist, communists, Moslems, Christians, anti-media (TV stations and Print media), politicians,  and government machinery.

Please join the forces and organization who have taken up the cause of preserving and protecting Hinduism and also challenging the anti-Hindu forces.

Donations.

Your generous donations to make people aware of the impending danger to Hinduism and take active role in preserving the liberty and freedom for all the people, we request all  individuals and organizations to support financially to continue our movement to free Hindu Temples from the government control and preserve our culture.

Kolkata airport: Map redrawn, land to be acquired, high-rises trimmed to save mosque

Mouparna Bandyopadhyay

Posted online: Sunday, June 01, 2008

Kolkata, May 31 :Development runs deep—but devotion runs deeper. So an ancient mosque on a tiny patch of 1,200 square feet of land right next to a runway has forced a redrawing of the entire Rs 2,000-crore map to upgrade Kolkata airport.

An extra 25,000 square metres has to be acquired, crores have to be spent on building a detour and several high-rise buildings have to be compensated because they have to knock off their top floors in line with the new plan.

The project, cleared yesterday by the Public Investment Board under the ministry of Finance is all set to go to the Cabinet—after a very public spat between Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and the Planning Commission over delays—and envisages extension of the second runway at the Kolkata airport.

The Kolkata airport has two runways: the main runway, 3,627m, that carries bulk of the air traffic, and a shorter one, 2,399 m, which is inadequate to service large aircraft, and so needs to be extended by another 440 m to the north.

But this is exactly where the 117-year old Bankra mosque — where on an average 30 people offer prayers each day under tight security — lies, less than 100 feet from the north end of the shorter runway, Also, the walls of the mosque cannot withstand vibrations caused by aircraft landing or taking off.

"We have tried to negotiate with the masjid committee numerous times. We have also tried to give them land outside the port and offered to create a replica of the masjid elsewhere but to no avail," says SPS Bakshi, Director (Projects), Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. Result: the Airports Authority of India has decided to extend the runway towards the southern side.

"This means we have to lease out more than 25,000 square metres of land to the state government for the diversion," says another official of he AAI. The AAI will spend Rs 2 crore and the state government will provide Rs 3 crore. Also, an existing road, running from Kaikhali to Narayanpur (Rajarhat) will need to be diverted.

Then there is the issue of a new taxiway that needs to be constructed joining the northern end of both the runways. The taxiway needs to be at least 30 m wide to allow for wingspan of aircraft like A-380. As per the blueprint, the taxiway will intersect with the barb-wired path leading to the mosque. This poses a security threat and to circumvent it, a new path leading to the mosque has to be constructed. This, in all probability, will be a subway and will mean an extra Rs 20 crore, say officials.

"The authorities are in constant dialogue with the members of the masjid committee to bring out a viable solution to the problem. The extension of the runway towards the south will mean diverting the Kaikhali road and paying compensation to the building owners whose buildings will now come under height restriction. AAI is already conducting a survey to mark the buildings," said Deepankar Ghosh, leader of the AAI employees union.

Says Abid Ali, a senior influential member of the committee that runs the mosque, "Thirty years ago the civil aviation department of India had evicted us from our land and relocated us at Bankra on the understanding that the mosque will never be demolished. We cannot let the mosque be destroyed."

Amitava Nandi, CPM Member of Parliament, Dum Dum, passes the buck to the Centre. "The mosque is on AAI's land and the Centre should speak to the Imam in New Delhi to shift the structure to a different area. As of now the Centre is not taking any initiative about this. What can the state do?" he asks.

That's not all. Aviation regulations have height restrictions for buildings within 10 km of the runway. The extension of the runway to the south to keep the mosque intact means that multi-storeyed buildings that were permitted in the adjacent Rajarhat area, will now need to lose some of their top floors. "This will require us to pay compensation amounting to crores, we are working this out," said a senior AAI official. A mapping of the area is being done to identify which structures have to be trimmed accordingly.

In fact, this week, the DCL Housing Development Company is the first one to receive a notice to construct Ground plus 17 and not Ground plus 19 floors it had got clearance for. A detailed survey is under way to identify such houses that would have to conform to the height restrictions.

"We will be extending one runway to 12,000 feet and the other one to 10,500 feet without touching the mosque. It is wrong to say that top floors of some buildings will have to go for the 10,500 feet runway expansion, no such thing will happen

.
However, we are still negotiating to have the mosque relocated elsewhere and we will bear the cost of relocation as we usually do in case of shifting of religious structures. We had also taken up the issue with the West Bengal CM a couple of months back but then he had said that his hands were full so the issue could be addressed at a later stage. So we have not really lost hope on the issue", said a senior official from AAI.

2)  Attack on Hindu Temples Still continues!

http://www.hindujagruti.org/news/582.html

July 19, 2006

Due to the inert and Disinterested attitude of the Hindus the procedure of attack and removal of the Hindu temples has started again. This is the case not only foreign countries but has started in India as well. Unless the Hindus become aware of this and display their United strength this activity shall not stop!

The name 'Dacca' of the capital of Bangledesh has been derived from the name of the Hindu Deity 'Dacceshwari' whose temple is there. Just like 'Mumbai' is named after the Deity 'Mumbadevi'. For the Hindu citizens if Bangladesh it is the most important Shrine or place of pilgrimage. The temple management has been given a notice by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Begum Khalida Zia that the temple has to be razed (knocked down or broken) as the road needs to be broadened.

Actually :In 1947 as per the agreement between thePrime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and the Pakistan Primeminister Liyakat Ali Khan it was agreed that both would keep all the Religious places of the minorities in their respective countries in the same condition as they were. Bharat has kept this agreement metacuously; but Pakistan and Bangladesh have broken this pact many a times. Since 1947 till date 1139 known temples have been broken in Pakistan and they have not been given alternative land. (Ref : The report of UNO's Human Rights Organisation 2006 Pg. 365)
Recently Lord Vishnu's temple in Lahore was dismantled. Even though this act was a clear cut breach of the Nehru Liyakat pact Government of India has till date not even sent a letter of protest to the Government of Pakistan. Klantan in the north of Malaysia is ruled by fanatic muslim provincial government. They are an embarrassment to the national government of Malaysia. Very recently an ancient Temple of Lord Vishnu ( according to UNESCO it was 1100 to 1200 years old) has been broken. And the Klantan government has as compensation given land of dimension 10By 10. To the temple trust. On such a plot only a toilet can be accommodated. This is how the Hindu community in Malaysia has been ridiculed. India has been trying to improve its relations with the ASEAN nations but it has never razed the question of the safety of the temples with any of the concerned ASEAN Countries.

Well, this is not happening only in foreign lands alone! The Andhra Pradesh Government has started a similar job in the Tirupati Tirumala Devasthan. There were 5 hills in its jurisdiction. Now the Andhra Pradesh Government has by its process of redefining the talukas, removed 3 hills from the jurisdiction of the Devasthan. These 3 hills are being called as 'Tirumala Township'. Which means that people have now been given the permission to build homes and townships there. Naturally people odf every religion will come to live there. With them shall come the place of worship of different religions. Which is to say that the sanctity of the Tirupati Tirumal Devasthan shall be destroyed.
Luckily many retired Judges, Lawyers, Doctors, Professors have chalked out and started to protest in a legal way against this outrage. Shri Bhagyappa is the co-ordinator and organisor of this mission. The visiting Professor Dr. N. Narasimharao, of the National Defense College which gives advanced training to the Generals in the army, is the joint organisor of this mission. These people have organized a huge rally on the 16th July in Hyderabad to protest against the action of the government. The Hindus from all parts of the country should unitedly support this rally. This is their Dharmic Duty!

3)  FREEDOM GAGGED : Pilgrims Attacked

                  By Francois Gautier

June 14, 2008

Ganga Sagar, located on the western edge of the Sunderban Delta in West Bengal,  is for many Hindus a very renowned Place of Pilgrimage, because there the Ganga river has a confluence with the Bay of Bengal. At the edge of Sagar town - adjacent to the beach - is an ancient temple dedicated to Kapil Muni, the sage responsible for initiating the chain of events that ultimately resulted, according to the legend, to 'Mother Ganga' descending to the earth from heaven and giving mankind an opportunity to wash away its sins in her pure water. The earliest mention of this place is found in the Mahabharata where a sage explains to Bhishma the significance of taking a dip at the confluence of Gangasagar. Thus, millions of Hindu pilgrims visit this holy place all year round to take a dip in the Ganges, particularly during the Kumbha Mela  and Makara Sankranti festivities.

Last Thursday,  a Hindu social group, named the Hindu Sanghati, led by its National convener, Sri Tapan Kumar Ghosh, had started conducting there for 180 men, women and children, a three-day Yoga and meditation camp in a building close to the confluence owned by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. After attending the first Yoga and meditation session in the morning, the group went to take a dip in the Ganga Sagar confluence, and thereafter to pay obeisance in the Kapil Muni shrine. On its way, the group chanted "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Jai Sri Ram". This was enough to anger the local people, mostly immigrant Bangladeshi Muslims. Later in the day, led by  Sheikh Ismail, who happens to be CPI(M)'s Panchayat Samiti seat winner in the area, about 3000 men reached the building were the pilgrims were put up, and started throwing gas cylinders and petrol bombs (Molotov cocktails) and kept on attacking incessantly for a few hours, till all 180 of the camp were trapped inside this burning camp along with Tapan Ghosh.

The local police-appeared to side more with the Muslims than the Hindus, maybe just out of plain fear, and  only very small posse of 15 policemen was sent, totally inadequate for resisting such a huge armed mob. The police could not control the mob of Muslims even after firing several rounds.

As a result, quite a few Hindus attending the camp have been injured in the carnage, and at least 7 of them are in critical condition, apart from 2 others who could not be identified because of serious facial burn injuries. 2 policemen have also been seriously injured due to the assault by the Muslim mob. Apart from throwing petrol bombs to incinerate the camp building, the mob also attacked and seriously damaged some nearby houses of the local Hindus as well as an adjoining Kali temple and a 'Yatri Nivas' (Travellers' Lodge) run by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

In a travesty of justice, 15 of the pilgrims were arrested by the local police, and booked under Sections 147, 148, 149, 307, 310 and 323 of IPC (Indian Penal Code) for inciting "communal disharmony". Out of these 15, the organiser of the camp, Tapan Ghosh, and one other have been remanded 7 days' police custody in Kakdwip Thana (Police Station) in West Bengal and it is feared they will be tortured. A pilgrim who was injured in the clash, said: "We got beaten up only for chanting  religious slogans; Jayanta Mukherjee, the SDPO of the area also abused us and arrested many of our members."  Ironically, not even one of the attackers was arrested by the police.

It seems like a reverse logic: instead of punishing the attackers, you penalize the attacked ! The communists, by allowing knowingly  hundreds of thousands of Bangladeshis to settle in West Bengal, out of ideology (Muslims are our allies), but also for electoral purposes (they are furnished fake identity cards, so that they vote for them) have created a monster that will come back to haunt India, not only in Nandigram, but other places, such as Jaipur or Varanasi, though communists, once more have shown that they will  side with Muslims if they attack Hindus.

One has to laud Nehru's concept of protecting the oppressed and the minorities, but is it not now going overboard, with the police seeming to side increasingly with minorities, at the expense of the majority community of India, the Hindus, who have been known throughout their history to be extremely tolerant and to accept diversity?

Is it a common pattern? Yes ! the same thing happened in Chennai when on the 7th March 2008, the Tamil Nadu police vandalized an exhibition on Aurangzeb and threw some paintings on the ground, shattering them. Yet it was an artistic exhibition on the great Moghol emperor using his own records and firmans (edicts), many of which are still preserved in Indian museums, such as the Bikaner archives. Aurangzeb was truly a pious Muslim, copying the Koran himself, stitching Muslim skullcaps and enforcing strict laws. Nevertheless, according to his own documents, he was a very ruthless and cruel emperor. Forget what he did to  Hindus : re-imposing the humiliating jiziya tax, forbidding them from riding horses, elephants or palanquins and ordering all temples destroyed (Among them the Krishna's birth temple in Mathura, the rebuilt Somnath temple on the coast of Gujurat,  the Vishnu temple replaced with the Alamgir mosque now overlooking Benares and the Treta-ka-Thakur temple in Ayodhya),  he was also a monster to his own family, having his father poisoned, his two brothers killed, and imprisoning his own son.

The day before the Nawab of Arcot, local Muslim leader, had visited the exhibition and had been enraged by two miniatures -- the first depicted Aurangzeb's army destroying the Somnath temple and the second showed the destruction of the Kesava Rai temple in Mathura. Soon, the nawab sent a group of Muslims from TMMK (Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam) and MNP (Manitha Neethi Paasarai) to pick up arguments with the volunteers, most of them elderly women from decent family backgrounds. They came back again on 7th afternoon, screaming on top of their voices in Tamil and in English that this exhibition was absolutely false and that unless it was closed immediately  they would come back in force tomorrow (Friday) to break it down. The volunteers tried to reason with them, that these were all documents from Government archives, that they could explain everything to them, that they could even debate on TV, but they shouted even louder and got more threatening. Then the police openly sided with the TMMK, vandalized the exhibition and closed it down.

This raises the question of what kind of freedom exists in India at the moment. We understand that without the support of the communists the present Government would collapse. But does that mean that the Congress leaders have to turn a blind eye to what the communists are doing to the social fabric of India and South Asia? There is such a thing as Karma. By allowing hundreds of Bangladeshis to settle in India, or having helped the Maoists to take over Nepal, or letting artistic freedom be gagged, these people, who soon will be out of power, will hand over to the next government extremely difficult situations to handle.
