The CongressWealth Games

India has shocked the world, evoking consternation and outright disgust, by presenting filthy and unsafe facilities to foreign officials making inspections ahead of their athletes' arrival for the CommonWealth Games. The mega-showcase initiated by the corrupt ruling kleptocracy has indeed turned into the SlumDog Games.

Many an Indian is feeling outrage over the comments by Lalit Bhanot, who rather than expressing remorse at the filthy unhygienic conditions at the Athletes Village, instead fatuously claimed that Indians had different hygienic standards than Westerners, for which they had nothing to apologize for.

Meanwhile, an Indian minister visiting Canada, Anand Sharma angrily denounced foreign criticism, which he alleged to be a conspiracy aimed at running down his country.

This is the same party that routinely accuses the political opposition of playing the "patriotism card" on issues of vital national interest, and meanwhile the same party is now wrapping itself in the flag to blunt criticism against itself. When it was said that "patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels," it was meant in regards to cases like this, rather than opposition to illegal immigration, or concern over terrorism.

On the bright side, Pakistan will now feel less motivated to launch any terror attacks to spoil the games. Why do that, when they can watch us hang ourselves with our own rope?

A century back the limeys used to say - "Indians and dogs not allowed."

We now return the favour by saying that both Englishmen and dogs are allowed.

All ELM talk of the hapless Kalmadi as the main villain- no mention of any other person within the Indian Napunsak Congress, including its' "leaders".
Similarly, all ELM unfailingy prefix the word "fake" with the Sohrabuddin encounter case.
The ELM have also used Gopalaswami,ex-CEC, rather than the dubious Navin Chawla, to fire a salvo for the pristine, pure Indian EVMs.

Kalmadi is the fall guy. The responsibility of course rests with the Gandhis and Manmohan, both for stealing 70,000 Crores and the shoddy work.

Now a snake has been found in a South African athlete's room. Can't find a link to that story yet.

Indians have no one to blame but themselves since they elected the invisible PM handled by Italian Puppet mistress Sonia Maino.

Then again most Indians also have no self respect. So they don't care as well.

Here's a sample of some of the jokes being circulated around about the CWG:

My favorite one was:

4) Terrorists set to skip CWG 2010 citing unlivable conditions and fear for their safety.
