"Peace" in action
"communal harmony" on display.
"Swami" Agnivesh, Burka Dutt et al would surely extol this as a fine instance of "composite culture".
Where is Cedric Prakash - inventor of "Gujarat genocide" mythology?
Where is Teesta Setalvad -of the "ghastly rapes" cottage industry?
These worthies will be conspicuously silent. The victim is a mere Hindu.
Didn't you know that "Mahatma"
Ghandy had conceded away the
right of the "Peace" party to perpetrate such acts of "brotherhood" way back in the
1920's, in the interest of "preserving age old amity"?
I can't seem to remember -
Was the undertaking part of the Lucknow pact? Or was it a principle in Chacha Nehru's doctrine of Panchsheel?
Notice how the TOIlet paper attempts to minimize and negate
the atrocity by describing the victim as "Dalit", i.e. as distinct from "Hindu".

where did stuxnet come from?
"An electronic war has been launched against Iran."
— Mahmoud Liayi, head of the information technology council at Iran's ministry of industries, on a worm that has infected the computer systems at that country's first nuclear power plant. The Stuxnet worm, which also has been found in India and Indonesia, targets SCADA(supervisory control and data acquisition) systems, such as utilities or other infrastructure controls, by exploiting security holes in Microsoft's Windows. Security researchers from Symantec and Kaspersky Lab disagree about when the Stuxnet worm first attacked (January or July), but they do agree that its scope and sophistication — and whose existence is referred to by a Forbescontributing writer as a "game-changer" — make it likely that it was government-backed, according toComputerworld. A cybersecurity expert quoted by theWall Street Journal says suspects include the U.S., U.K., and Israel.

Of late whatever happens in India is very sad and extremely painful.
Why should innocent animals die for the errors of the mankind?
Two elephant calves got caught in the railway track. Five adult elephants rushed to save them. Sadly and unfortunately all the seven elephants died crushed under a goods train.
The goods train had surpassed the permitted speed limit.
So, who must be punished?
The Prime Minister?
Or the Railway Minister?
Or the Environment Minister?
Or the Forest Minister?
Or the Train Driver?
Or the Signal Man?
Or the entire Congress led government?
Please sign the petition...
With sadness and pain

The massacre site in Jalpaiguri is a designated jumbo corridor where railway drivers are required to provide safe crossing to the elephants. Negligent train drivers have killed 150 elephants in India since 1987 despite the Environment Minster and the elephant task force repeatedly calling for the Railway Ministry to enforce safety measures. Only a deafening outcry from citizens across our country could push the Railway Minister to act.
It is time to put an end to this carnage. The two Ministers meet next week to discuss concrete measures to protect elephants. Let's build a massive movement to protect our elephants. Sign the petition to the Railway Minister Mamata Bannerjee calling on her to hold those responsible to account and immediately enforce crucial elephant protection measures -- it will be delivered directly to the Minister:
http://www.avaaz.org/en/india_stop_elephant_slaughter/?vl
Elephants are highly intelligent and sensitive animals. They never abandon their injured and dead, and last week the whole herd was killed as they tried to save two calves injured on the track. But this slaughter is totally avoidable -- elephant paths are well known to the railway drivers and they always cross by night and can be spotted from a distance, if the trains are moving at the right speed.
Our wild elephants are already under siege from poachers, but the elephant task force has devised simple measures to protect them from trains: make drivers accountable for their actions, place speed governors on trains in sensitive areas, enforce patrolling along the tracks, stop the movement of good trains at night in elephant corridors and enforce strict safety measures in the 88 elephants corridors.
The Environment Minister has expressed outrage about this latest tragedy -- he was about to declare elephants our national heritage animal and announce the creation of a National Conservation Authority to ensure their protection. Let's support the Environment Minister and send a powerful signal to the Railway Minister that India demands immediate action before we lose one more elephant.
http://www.avaaz.org/en/india_stop_elephant_slaughter/?vl
Throughout our history our elephants have been revered. It is now up to all of us to ensure their urgent protection from this brutal and senseless slaughter. Sign the petition now:

Kalmadi isn't the only one to blame for CWG mess by Virendra Kapoor in Rediff + How Delgi Govt favored a Delhi based builder
From: sanjeevnayyar
As against this, Sheila Dikshit's government was allocated Rs 16.56 billion to upgrade the capital's infrastructure in time for the Games, notes Virendra Kapoor.
They may have virtually stripped Suresh Kalmadi of all powers as the chairman of the Organising Committee, Commonwealth Games, but he still continues to be its titular head.
And that way, Kalmadi serves a very useful purpose insofar as various ills of omission and commission of all others deeply connected with the preparations of the Delhi [ Images ] Games are best shielded from a prying media and an angry public seeking accountability and transparency.
So, whether it is Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit or Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy, Kalmadi's continuance as the notional head of the organising committee helps to make him a scapegoat while everyone else gets away by default.
Come to think of it, Kalmadi as the head of the OC had only a small fraction of the funds at his disposal to fool around with while Dikshit and Reddy control huge chunks of money earmarked for the Games.
