This is typical of 'secularist' newspapers in India too. They have *token* columns from the *other* side to buttress their self-proclaimed neutrality claim

The First PM of India(TM Rajeev) wanted the Indian Army scrapped..
We don't need the Army

Jews like Ben Stein (who is the actor who appears in the Clear Eyes and Direct TV commercials) know which side of the bread is buttered. Even liberal jews like Thomas Firedman of the NYT will support Israel completely--no matter what it does. Quite unlike our own Hindu liberals who make it a point to attach any Hindu nationalistic perspective.

Yup, Jews and American Christians of all persuasion and political affinities always support their country and religion when it comes to war. It is only we Hindus, especially of the 'secular, progressive' persuasion who like to throw dung on our culture and country.

Ohhh, but get a load how

The Huffington Post Acts as the NYT's Guardian Angel

Ariana Huffington, with her dahhhleeeng Zsa-Zsa soundalike accent, is of course a consummate Atlanticist who knows that only knee-jerk liberalism can help to make Europe the kingmaker in American politics.

It's funny to see her behave like such a rabid liberal, when I remember how she originally started out as a rabid right-winger. Why she did such an amazing flip-flop is an interesting mystery, but as for when she did it -- that would have been back in the mid-1990s.

On a philosphical note -- Is Italy's Romano Prodi about to become a modern version of Pontius Pilot?

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/918DADC8-4B0A-40CD-883C-8B2C8FC2892B.htm

The reason I say this is because he's sending Italian soldiers to guard the peace between Israel and Hezbollah. But this time it's the Jews who are in danger of being crucified, and it's the Hezbollah who are baying for their blood.

When the shit hits the fan, what choice will he make?

Will he save the Jewish entity from the surrounding hostile mob, or will he give in to calls from that crowd to expunge the alien presence from their midst?
