quite possible this is accurate. white guys just *hate* giving credit to others.
there is the story, for instance, of marconi vs. bose. this is well documented -- bose invented the radio, and that information is avaiable from contemporary records including the royal society of britain. but bose was a reticent scientist, and marconi, a gregarious salesman (and not incidentally, a white guy) gets all the credit.

If true, this heralds a critical phase in the Blauchi conflict
India has got to make sure to keep the pressure up. Martyrdom brings it's own advantage with Islamists of all brands. If we arm them right - their anger at the killing of the chief can be directed well.
Sad as the Nawab of Bugti's murder is, I see it as a God-send for India, if we play our cards right. The Pukis have commited a great blunder by martyring the old Nawab. They will have to pay a price for it by seeing an independent Balochistan. Here is where India should help the Balochis with adequate arms (yeah moral & diplomatic support too) and here is where the Kangress will f*ck up.
I beg to disagree. Did the issue of Balochistan come to boil in BJP regime? Did we ever hear about it that time? I bet congress knows this game better than BJP. I suspect congress rulers must have done something to fan the Balochistan uprising, possibly using the increased interaction in the peace process... (Did you notice some Indian diplomats were expelled last month?..)
Grow up BJP lovers, Congress will keep dividing people for its own good, if not for anything else. After all, a non-united Pakistan is a much better ground for conversion in terms of evangelical activities and the Congress is a party that supports conversion to christianity, is it not?
iamfordemocracy, what are you babbling about?
Mush has overplayed his hand by killing this 80-year old man. He's only going to earn a backlash for himself.
I feel bad that such an old guy met such an ugly fate, buried alive in a cave by a bunker-buster attack.
I have to wonder if the USA is truly stupid enough to let China get a naval port at the mouth of the Straits of Hormuz? If so, they can kiss their energy security goodbye.
As we can see, the half-hearted Congress govt hasn't given the Baloch much to fight with. They don't even have any decent anti-aircraft weapons. Look at what Hezbollah had against Israel. The Baloch are under-supported.

Note that Mush's offensive against the Baloch may have only become possible due to an informal armistice with AlQaeda.
Bush is such a sucker, I don't know where he gets his brains from. The only clever move from the Whitehouse has been to sucker European NATO troops to move into Afghanistan to die in place of American GIs. Other than that, Washington has been screwing up its Afghanistan policy so badly.
San, I am sure you have a better idea about the Baloch problem. Pl tell us of any known Indian involvement in the same.. I have a feeling it wouldn't even have occurred to BJP people that this was one way to prick Pakistan. Correct me if I am wrong. I really wish to know if BJP did anything by way of strategic and tactical moves to get at its/Indian enemies.
BJP didn't do anything because they didn't want to annoy your precious Iran. Remember that much of Baluchistan is part of Iran as well. The politicians from our Indian democracy seem too cowardly to push for much support of Baluchis.
The best bet would still be Israel. They have top-line weaponry, have a history of recognizing that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and they don't like either Iran or Pakistan. Israel is being sufficiently harassed by Iran's guerrilla proxy Hezbollah that it would be appropriate of them to find some guerrillas willing to harass the Iranians back. Pakistan is the prime sponsor of Sunni militants like AlQaeda, so if Pak gets harassed too, then that's a bonus. Sunni and Shia extremists are still at each others' throats in places like Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, but in Israel's immediate neighborhood the Shiite Hezbollah and the Sunni Hamas are singing each others' praises. They're not likely to bicker with each other at the expense of solidarity against Israel -- even if a full-blown Shia-Sunni civil war were to break out in Iraq.
I think that the US/Israel are not far away from bombing Iran, and that it could happen in 6 months. If they don't do the full job of ousting the Ayatollah regime, then we all know that the US and Israel will suffer heavy harassment from a wounded and angry Iran. This is guaranteed. (The Bush admin is lazy and sloppy enough to try and get by with a minimal bombing campaign, rather than resorting to a more costly and difficult ground invasion to oust the regime.)
When an angry Iran goes berserk after being bombed, using Hezbollah and other assorted stunts, and scaring all the other Gulf states in the process, then the best thing for Israel and USA to do would be to ramp up support for Baluchis in order to harass Iran back. Bush may be too dumb to support Baluchis against Pak, but hopefully Israelis won't be as dumb. Meanwhile I wonder why Bush doesn't care about Gwadar becoming a Chinese naval base?

The headstrong commando-general just doesn't seem to like negotiating. Perhaps he's just a control freak?
