fascinating indeed.
the transcripts dont exactly cover the us military in glory. there has been a school of thought that the us armed forces are not really as competent as they are thought to be; they do well mostly based on high-tech weaponry, and also they do their best in hollywood reworkings (the winner rewriting history and all that).
now i'd really prefer it if the us army were more competent. it's a bad idea to put all that firepower in the hands of semi-competent GI Joes.
i mean, imagine these guys with their hands on the 'launch' buttons. terrifying visions of 'doctor stranglove'!
