forwarded mail from k. sorry for the advertisement, but i have seen earlier drafts of the book, and there is a lot of good information there about the despicable ngo cottage industry.

as i mentioned recently, all these guys get magsaysay awards. this award seems to be 'reserved' for marxists, stalinists, and sling-bag types.

As you know, the Vigil book takes the data presented by the NGOs themselves and scrutinizes them. In the feedback we are getting from private individuals buying the book, I would like to share two consequences with you.- a very prominent management consultant who made a substantial donation to ASHA is so horrified by ASHA's accounting black holes that he's buying 6 more copies to distribute them in his donor circle. And an NRI who made a major donation and promised more to Parivartan is so discomfited by Parivartan's fudging that he's promptly dropped them. These are, of course, individual responses, but Vigil invites you to likewise use the book to inform donors to these NGOs about their reality.
