ARM's Smartphone Empire Faces a Challenge

Whether we buy Apple, Samsung, Nokia or BlackBerry, we’re also inevitably buying ARM and contributing to the nearly one billion ARM-licensed chips that are expected to ship this year.

Imagination Technologies is one of very few companies to have proven — repeatedly — that it can match or even beat ARM at its own game. Imagination is extremely successful at graphics; its engineers are accustomed to winning, and their energy is about to infuse the downtrodden ranks at MIPS.

Two greatest citizens of Kerala passed away in the last two days.

Greatest of all Malayalam Actors and Actresses Sukumari passed away on March 26, 2013 at Chennai.

Also, last Zamorin passed away at Kozhikode.

There is no words to describe Sukumari, who acted in more than 3000 movies, each roll tells a unique character.

Unfortunately, she did not get much accolade than she deserved. If she were an actress in US, she would have gotten Life Achievement Award. While in India, AMMA and other politicians sheds crocodile tears by praising how great she was, but reluctant to provide any awards.
All she got was a Padma Sri in 2003. She should have received Padma Vibhushan.
While she was alive, none of the Malayalam actors campaigned for any awards for her. Nor AMMA - communist organization which controls the Malayalam movie industry. Communists dislike Sukumari Amma because of her unique appearance with thilakam, saree or settimundu.

Last King of Zamorin passed away. Because of his ancestors today's Kerala has Muslims. When Portuguese came to Calicut (Kozhikode), they asked King of Zamorin to expel all the Arabs merchants (ancestors of present day Muslims in Northern Kerala) in turn of pearls, diamond and other wealth. The King refused and said "Arabs have been doing business with us for a long time. They are our friends and guests. There is nothing valuable than friendships in this world."

But later, one of the grand sons of the King's commander Kunjali Marakkar turned against him. Do the Muslims in Kerala owe to the Zomirin? No... they made a blood river during khilafat Movement in early 1920s.
