Investigations into 1993 bombings (as reported in newspapers) showed very clearly that Dutt was not merely in "possession" of illegal firearms, but knowingly served as a vital conduit for supply of arms, ammunition, and bombs from foreign based terrorists to the local ones. In the circumstances, it is difficult to understand why the charges against him were taken out of TADA, and why Supreme Court did not put him back under TADA and enhance the sentence.

Registrar of Marriages: “Your name is Sunil Dutt, and [turning to the woman] and you are Fatima Rashid. After marriage, you will be Fatima Dutt.”
