Indian Shuttle Under Construction

The shuttle-like airframe of the Reusable Launch Vehicle is shown here under fabrication:

The RLV testbed prototype is scheduled for launch on the HS-9 rocket about 6 months from now, in September 2013. Over multiple flights it will demonstrate and validate the technologies necessary for a fully operational reusable launch vehicle system. The initial Hypersonic Flight Experiment will demonstrate spacecraft re-entry.
