have to hand it to them: these guys are like the p-secs of india -- can't put them down. they're like cockroaches.
from the san jose mercury news, good morning silicon valley.
I installed the Obama app on my iPhone, and now all it does is call for change: In another adept move in the nascent field of social technology campaigning, Barack Obama's supporters are tapping into a demographic already known for passion and loyalty -- iPhone owners. Today, the campaign unveiled an iPhone application built by volunteers that is aimed at mobilizing the mobile. In addition to providing quick links to news, position statements, and nearby Obama offices and events (using the GPS capability), the application gives you a reordered contact list, listing your friends in key battleground states at the top so that you can conveniently remind them of their responsibilities. And in a smart little exercise in affiliation and motivation, it also keeps track (anonymously) of how many calls you make through the app and how many are being made nationwide. There's also a prominent "Donate" button. No word yet on whether the McCain campaign will respond on the iPhone platform (or Google's maverick Android), but there is absolutely no truth to that smart-ass rumor about a secret project involving pagers.
