Time for ELM dhimmis to go ga-ga over yet another Booker! Why am I not surprised that yet another time a writer has been awarded to write about social injustice in India? Watch the TOI and likes praise Aravind Adiga to the skies. Commies should love it too, because the novel is purportedly a letter to a Chinese diplomat by a poor, downtrodden worker. Ever wondered why no literary creation that shows India in a positive light has never won any international honors?

Sandeep has a well developed critique as well (though he has admitted not reading the book)

Reality is that the award/reward people are sick folks looking for a spittoon - democratic India is a soft target. They dare not do this to the Chinese for e.g.- no the knives will be out.
However, as I have said on Sandeep's blog - we should simply pay not attention to such writer's. They are of no consequence - we should be forming reading clubs locally where we live and also online
Adiga clearly has ‘borrowed’ the premise of ‘master-slave’ relationship from Adoor’s Malayalam film ‘Vidheyan’ (1993). It was penned by Paul Zacharia, another writer heavily influenced by socialism.
Paul probably ‘borrowed’ his premise from some Russian novel knowing the Kerala’s infatuation with communism. (There are more Stalins in Kerala than anywhere in the world.)
Someone should point Booker Hooker Jokers to the film ‘Vidheyan’.
