David Rothkopf of Foreign Policy Journal describes US engagement with Pakistan as 'making love to a cactus'. Well, it's upto the US not to become a prisoner of its own fetishes.

In that case, how would Rothkopf describe America's relations with it's South American neighbours?
Is there one single nation that has a "normal" relationship with USA?
