World food supply will be rooted in India’s troubled soil

nov 4th, 2007

hey, if you guys are so concerned about arsenic, how about you desist buying any agricultural produce from india? i believe the "rooted" part, but not the "troubled soil" part. this article is full of bullshit about india's land: there is arsenic only in very limited areas. and much of america's land is not exactly pristine: remember kesterton lake in california, devastated by selenium poisoning from agricultural runoff?

what is more interesting is twofold:

1. india *is* becoming viewed as an agricultural power. the european financiers are probably buying up land in bulk through proxies. this, incidentally, is what they did in the US after WW2: they invested their money in large tracts of land in california, texas, etc, as well as created the VC industry because they felt europe was moribund. now they are probably pushing up land prices in india by working with third parties to buy up lots of agricultural and industrial land. and they probably are behind VC funds, too.

2. amartya sen's wife is a rothschild. so i am sure amartya sen has pulled a lot of strings to ensure that her cousins can come in and quietly set up shop in india and exploit the heck out of the country. anything for colonialism by any means. mir jafar must be cheering.

thanks, k, for the link.

Why do the high & mighty Europeans need to consume Indian vegetables? Has their land stopped growing christist vegetables all of a sudden? This deal should not be operationalised. I demand the Swadeshi Jagran Manch to work with the communists on this issue and ensure that the Indian consumers interests are protected first and foremost.
