The X-House is an example of the growing application of "glulam" (glue lamination) technology in construction. The Tatas and similarly development-minded conglomerates have talked about building the "5-lakh home", similar to the 1-lakh car. Technologies like glulam could one day be very useful in bulk-manufacturing of affordable homes to good quality standards.
If you go to the builder's site, you can see various sizes of homes/cabins built using this technology.
