Invading The Sacred - By Aditi Banerjee

In college, I was exposed to Jeffrey Kripal's "theory" of Sri
Ramakrishna as a homosexual who had homoerotic feelings about (and
possibly abused) Swami Vivekananda. It was presented to me not as
speculation but as an academically established and authoritative
truth. All my life, I had looked upon Sri Ramakrishna and Swami
Vivekananda as holy saints who had revived Hinduism during colonial
rule in India. I had a picture of Sri Ramakrishna and Sarada Devi to
which I daily offered aarti, and I eagerly read Swami Vivekananda's
complete works--one of the few compilations on Hinduism widely
available in English that is written from a Hindu perspective. They
had been my portal to Hinduism, but I felt shaken by these academic
allegations. Instinctively, I knew such claims were baseless, and yet,
these claims were made and vouched for by bona fide professors with
Ivy League credentials, so they could not be completely wrong.

Could they?

The issue of academic abuse of Hinduism - with the assorted theories (such as AIT, Dravidian Tourist Theory, Aryan Violent Visitor Theory etc.); or through downright nonsense such as Jeffrey Kirpal is an accepted and established fact.

The question is how to fight this 'running dogs of Christism' establishment - yes most academic institutions in America are exactly that

Legal actions by the likes of HAF or CAPEEM is a good and important start; but we really need a long term, sustainable way to neuter the institutional bias against Hindus.

Hindus in the west are best suited to do this - and not just because they are closer to the institutions; but also because they are the Hindus with the most resources by way of financing and education.

As a follow up to my comment above, Tavleen Singh wrote a nice little piece on Invading the Sacred in todays IE http://www.indianexpress.com/story/203405.htmlLike Tavleen, I am a sceptical of Indians starting the fight back in India
I re-emphasize - if this is going to be turned around it will have to start in the West. Even Herculean intellectuals such as Sita Ram Goel or Ram Swarup could not turn the tide in their own life-time. The following problems apply

1- In India - there is institutional sanction to certain beliefs - aka 'JNU Knows Best'
2- Institutions that propagate said 'only truths' have all been taken over by leftist intellectuals- e.g the ICHR, NCERT etc.
3- Leftist intellectuals believe in two essentials - no original intellectual endeavor on their part ;and verbal terrorism on anyone doing original thinking (KS Lal, SR Goel, Ram Swarup, Arun Shourie, Gurumurthy, Bhyrappa - need I go on?)
4- To keep their own backsides stuck to gilded chairs in said institutions - the leftist borrow heavily (also known as 'inspiration' to the likes of Anu Malik) from Hindu studies in the West. They rehash the same works - with many footnotes added to make it look scholarly
5- The Western gurus of Hinduism are prejudiced (by missionary cant) when not hampered (by lack of growing up Hindu). It is easier for them to walk the easy path and merely keep repeating nonsense.

Hindus in the West have some advantages.
1- They are educationally more accomplished having come through the immigration sieve (Rajeev calls it the Innumeracy of the Indian Leftists vs. the Numeracy of the IIT-ians).
2- They are more susceptible to organizing under one umbrella - given that they are a mionority.
3- They have access to a better judicial system from which to launch the challenge.
Once you get a critical mass of successes there - it will inspire the millions back home to take up arms. Heck the ones back home - they love to celebrate Sunita Williams- so I am sure they may like it when Hindus start being anti-establishment rebels.

It is news to me that only IIT grads have made it through the "immigration sieve" into the US from India.

And this is a US IIT-grads blog ?

Freedom of speech is good. So people like Christian can get away with their drivel. Do they even understand that there is a clear attempt to ensure that the Hindu way of life dies out in this generation by feeding Indians intellectual and physical crap. Americans are experts at cultural destruction but to their credit, they also have a democratic setup that encourages diversity. Only slaves like Christian think that hindus should quietly fade away into the sunset! No fears buddy. Hindus have survived Islam and can survive anything.

@christian,
What exactly do you/mathew/jos wish to achieve by being disruptive on this blog ?

India's peace was disrupted the day Mohammed bin Qasim invaded Sindh in the 7th century.
Then after 1000 years of subjugation by the mullahs, christist missionaries came, like hyenas to prey on the wounded Indic civilization.

What kind of perverted pleaure do you get by not only claiming a monopoly on all philanthropic activities in India, but coming here to the west and making a nuisance of yourself on Hindu nationalist websites ?

I'm sure you're a kerala christist, please don't deny it.
"Frem Tea Shops To Koll Cenders , We Are Yevery Where "
Hahahaha, get it ? get it ? Hahaha... ROTFL

I'm appalled that literate kerala christists like you are blinded by your hatred of your Hindu ancestry. Is this what your yesu preached ? Is this what you're indoctrinated in your church ?

Now, i'm aware of indian christists' hatred of Hindu religion & Hindus, but I would like to understand why christists from kerala, tamil nadu exhibit this the most.

You guys always attempt to monopolise the moral high ground and will deny the existence of frauds & scoundrels like Ezra Sargunam & K.A Paul, above all the violent fanaticism of the ghoul of calcutta.

Shame on you for dishonoring your
Hindu ancestors, who may have been converted forcibly by scoundrels like xavier or under unfortunate circumstances for a bag of rice.

Now, you mallu christists must be all "very bissi to yearn meney." -)

So, please cast aside this maniacal obsession, this psychopathic hatred for your Hindu brethren. It is bad for your own health.

Now, i'm sure you'll be enraged by reading this post. It only shows the intolerance inculcated in you
by your "charch". This is a result of genetic mutation taking place in the descendants of mallu converts, as a result of eating beef. The church wants you to consume beef to make you more intolerant with each generation.

Please avoid beef for 1 month, practise pranayam/yoga and chant the name of Shri Krishna and see the difference. You will forget all ghouls & false saint xaviers.

Now, i know you're very happy to be a christian despite the sad circumstances behind that state.

Yet, please consider doing this with an open mind.
Please stop being a jerk. Go to your own christist website/blog. I'm sure there a many maintained by rascals like Biju Mathew, Jayant Pallekonds, FIACONA etc.

>>I AM AN INDIAN FIRST, AND A >>CHRISTIAN NEXT
Great. Then, why is it that you're noisily protesting in a thread on a Hindu nationalist blog that pertains to "Invasion of sacred space", a book that merely aims to ensure that Hinduism is portrayed fairly, as opposed to a pornographic representation of it's deities and practices.
Now, I for one have no unreasonable hatred for anything & everything christian just because it happens to be christian. Despite the christian genocide of Hindus, I am actually offended by pornographic representations of jesus, whether in that new york museum or in the university of baroda. As a Hindu, i do not believe in christ - but i will not deliberately disrespect or denigrate something that others worship. christist missionaries however are party to vulgar depictions of Hindu religious figures. Why, they even justified & supported that fellow in the University of Baroda who painted jesus in a revolting manner - simply because he also painted Hindu Gods in a pornographic manner. It is like cutting your nose to spite your face. Hindus do not object to christianity or jesus, despite all the inherent flaws. Hindus do not even object to the presence of chritism on our soil. The objection is to evangelism, to vulgar attacks on & dehumanization/demonization of Hindus, to conversion by force/fraud/allurement, to the denigration & destruction of our religion & culture.

Who is preventing you from practising your faith in your private domain ? Let me know if someone is doing so - I will defend your right to worship in the way you choose.

I don't get taken in by anybody's propaganda unquestioningly. I have experienced christist proselytisers first hand - in bangalore, in hyderabad, in madras, bombay, delhi etc. A shaven sikh friend of mine was trying to score with some christist girls on brigade road, bangalore. they invited him to a "youth camp" ostensibly to hear rock music. he showed up at the camp in a remote place - and found to his horror - hundreds of christists gathered there, having similarly conned other hindus in the aim of conversion.

Another case, where 2 nepali hindu students had a kerala christist room-mate. these guys were just enamoured of western ways, rock concerts, alcohol, drugs & the christist women, who are reputed
to be of licentious nature. They both converted to christism.

Yet another case - where a bihari
student converted to christism, in the hope of scoring with these christist girls. Of course, he was obnoxious enough to begin with - so it didn't work & so he re-converted.

You can mock me for all i care, but I'm appalled to see that you deny the holocaust of hindus by francis xavier, that you honestly expect Hindus to accept the christist canonization of a pirate like xavier.

The christist population in india may be officially 2 or 3%, but it is probably more like 10% because there are millions of crypto-christists who retain hindu names for the purpose of caste based reservations. % of christist run schools & hospitals is obviously disproportionately high - which is entirely my point regarding christist invaders destroying Hindu institutions, looting Hindu temples to build their own and
monopolising charity for conversion.

This is changing. Hindus are awakening and building their own institutions - obviously recovering from 1300 years of subjugation cannot happen overnight.

i have seen christist propaganda in action in hospitals & colleges.
we were forced to recite christist prayers in school. i refused & was caned for it by your precious christist "fathers".
Wherever there are Hindu institutions like Ramakrishna mission, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan,
Sankara eye foundation etc - the quality of education/healthcare is second to none and most of them are free - to all, including christists. I would prefer these any day for my children.

The only good thing that the kerala marxists seem to be doing is nationalising all christist schools/hospitals that are aided by taxpayer money. This is a sensible thing that GOI needs to implement on a nationwide basis.

I never used the phrase "bastard race". Someone else did and that too for englishmen, not indian christians. what can we do if you cannot make the distinction ? As far as ghouls or pirates, yes i did use those terms and they are very appropriate. i'm actually being very gentle. If christist depiction of hindu gods in a pornographic manner is news to you, that means you need to wake up and smell the coffee. Recognise the filth among your clergy and throw them out. We're not doing you a favour letting you live in India. But, kindly spare me the nonsensical INDIA/SOUTH ASIA garbage. Yes, Hindus are being generous to a fault by allowing christism to exist/grow in India despite all the filthy abuse & atrocities. And - stop calling me buddy. I have no interest in being buddies with any fanatic. And big deal about your kerala christists in the armed forces. They were the biggest block of deserters during times of war, when the going got tough. i've personally seen a few selling the army canteen liquor stock on trains to college students.

It is good riddance for the Indian armed forces if these chaps had
"to go to Thuubai, zimbly to meet his ungle in Gelff. To yearn meney. "
Hahaha ! Hahaha ! ROTFL

Now, regarding Christian women - I do not think that all of them have loose morals. I did say, that is a popular perception - for whatever reasons. Again - extra marital affairs, divorces etc were unheard of in india prior to christist pollution. The christist influence has made it a den of debauchery.
We need to counter the pernicious influence of decadent christist culture. Regarding your son's education etc - i agree with you on that part. it's a racket, again started by your beloved kerala christist "fathers", who charge lacs in "donations". Others may also charge money, but the mallu christists use it for conversion.

And - there are thousands of Hindu schools that educate for free. Of course, there is a dire need for Hindu organisations to redouble their efforts in the social sector, so that there are no Karnas collaborating with Christist Duryodhanas.

Yes - the christist institutions
do belong to us - after all they've been funded by generous grants from tax revenues, "donations" from Hindu parents and the teachers are Hindu, for the most part.

So, yes indeed - they are public property and ought to be nationalised ASAP. This would have happened in a country like China or Israel.

i am deleting every post by this christist guy. the reason is simple: he is using standard christist al-taqiyah which i have no particular reason to provide a forum for.

note how the fellow is oh so patriotic bleating loudly about how indian he is. butter wouldnt melt in his mouth. he wants hindus to appreciate all the great 'sacrifices' christists are making for india!

but on the other hand, this blog entry is about the unfair denigration of hinduism done by christist academics in the us.

this christist fellow sees *nothing* wrong with this. else why isn't he pleading with his fellow-christists in the US to *not* lie? after all, he claims to be living in the US too.

also, no indian christist ever objected to any of the following: godman paul, benny hinn, pat robertson, any other christist who has denigrated hinduism.

the reason is that indian christists are basically agents for a foreign power: the vatican or the baptists, as the case may be.

conclusion: this fellow is a standard-issue hypocrite.

responding to him is a waste of time. i suggest other folks stop paying any attention to him. i will end up having to delete their responses to him as well. also, bashing christists is not a good reason to beat up on keralites in general, please note.

to abhishek who got into a fight with this christist: you are welcome to return to this blog and post your comments. the folks who post here would like to retain some decorum. i can understand you getting provoked by the christist's foul language and responding in kind. i was also, being sick, unable to intervene before the language got out of hand. anyway, now that's taken care of, feel free to post again.

@Rajeev you said, " bashing christists is not a good reason to beat up on keralites in general, please note."

the same formula also applies when we replace "christists" with "dravidians" and "keralites "with "tamils" :-)

hopefully u and others here would agree to!! wouldnt u? :-) :-)

siva said...

Harish,

The difference is Keralites (of course except the Mohammedans and Christists) did not go on Jihad or Crusade and kill, rape, maim, plunder, loot, subjugate and keep in slavery hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions. Similarly non-Mohammedans and non-Christist keralite do not go about bad mouthing other religions and other way of life.

This is basic 101 you need to know if you want to be here. I have seen posts in your name for sometime now and if you still don’t get it then it is not the fault of Rajeev or others who frequent this blog.
