Japan Signs Defense Pact with Australia

This is Japan's first defense pact outside of the US. Looks like the Aussies beat us in, since they're more anchored to the US. But the Chinese plan to buy Australia, anyway. It would make a nice backyard for them to spread their legs in. With barely 20 million people, they're more of a pushover than Siberia, and much warmer besides.
