as do 'liberal' yanks.
yup, the general has brought home the bacon, namely untold billions of dollars in aid from the gullible yanks. it's party time for pakistan's middle class; the stockmarket is booming. and the 'liberals' of pakistan are perfectly in line with the army regarding terrorism in kashmir and elsewhere in india -- they see that as their birthright.
i never felt any commonalities with these 'liberal' middle and upper-class pakistanis whom i ran into at university and work. they are pretty alien, i thought.
re terrorism, their attitude is, what, me worry about a bunch of al qaeda and taliban? after all, they are all safely in the reliable hands of hamid gul and pals at the ISI. a couple of the low-level thugs are sacrificed every time the yanks start bitching too much. but the top-level operatives, such as osama (the guy with a serious kidney problem) and al-zawahiri are ensconced in luxury in some army-run luxury compounds somewhere.
