The rising tide of Indian and Chinese degree-holders will threaten America's competitive advantages. Oh well, stop watching American Idol then, and hit the books.

the raw numbers may be impressive, but the output of most of india's universities is not high-quality. think jnu.
although i have to say that most of the young engineers i see coming out of even the hokey schools are fundamentally intelligent. in the IT sector, the problem is managing them. managers usually have no clue, them being promoted because they are good engineers; in the process you lose a good engineer and gain a lousy manager.
