Minister accused of favouring big-time planters

Pioneer News Service/ Kochi

The stance taken by Revenue Minister KM Mani and Land Revenue Commissioner Alphonse Kannanthanam that the 334-square-mile Cardamom Hills Reserve (CHR) in Idukki district is not forest land is against law, according to Wildlife Advisory Board member John Peruvanthanam.

He told The Pioneer here on Monday that the State Government itself has given reports to the Kerala High Court and the Supreme Court in various cases that CHR is forest land.

"On December 12, 1996, in the famous TN Godavarman Thirumulppadu case, a Division Bench of the Supreme Court had directed the State Government to appoint a committee to determine the forest area of the State. Subsequently, a committee was nominated by the State Government with Forest Conservator V Gopinath as chairman, Revenue Additional Secretary BS Senthil and Law Department Joint Secretary G Nalini as members.

The report submitted by this committee before the Supreme Court clearly stated that CHR is forest land and the trees and land will come under the joint control of the Forest and the Revenue departments, Mr John said.

"The CHR has been described as forest land in the report submitted by the commission that investigated the Mathikettan forest land encroachment case under the-then Additional Chief Secretary N Chandrasekharan Nair as chairman and the secretaries of the Forest the Revenue departments as members. An annexure, which is a notification of the Revenue Department released in 1958, to this report says that Kerala's CHR area is 334 square miles or 2,15,480 acres.

This investigation report on Mathikettan was submitted when KM Mani was the Minister. That means, the present arguments of Mr Mani, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Mr Alphonse Kannanthanam are an insult to the Constitution and the Supreme Court," Mr John said.

He is of the view that the Revenue Minister and his team is trying to protect large-scale plantation owners in the name of farmers.

"I am raising a serious issue. The long-term consequences of destroying forest land will be massive. For example, a stretch from Bodymettu (on the Tamil Nadu border, near Idukki) to Ramakkalmedu in Idukki district has already undergone the process of desertification owing to ecological imbalance. This occurred in the last 20 years. There is no rain in this area ," he said.

"Gradually, the entire Idukki area may have the same fate. It is to be noted that there are 18 hydro-electric projects in Idukki district. Idukki is also the catchment area of the river Periyar. If the Periyar has no water, 25 lakh people in Ernakulam district will suffer. When such far-reaching, harmful effects are there, it is reprehensible for a Minister to make such erroneous statements," Mr Peruvanthanam said.

Christist Maani has 8 or 9 daughters. He had already looted many lands for their dowry. Now he needs 200000 acres for 'cross' cultivation for his clan and increasing bishop semen-ary palaces.

Here is another news on the nazi Pope's plan for Y Samuel Reddy:

When Chandy or Mani does something as devious as this, it is because he is a "Christist". When John Peruvanthanam opposes this, no mention is made of him being a Christist. This shows why Rajeev's assumption let us note that k m mani and alphonse k are both christists, and so are the majority of the planters. mani has been especially active in giving land deeds to those who have squatted on public or tribal land.
is not a good one.

I wonder how Rajeev felt when K Karunakaran, the most prominent worshipper of GuruvayoorAppan looted the state. I guess, then the reason must have been that he was a member of the Congress part. Rajeev's assumption would have been fair had he then, said that Karunakaran was a crook because he freqeunted the temple at Guruvayoor. (Note that I am not trying undermining the sanctity of the Guruvayoor Kshetram)

The only point I am trying to reiterate is, evil doers dont base their deeds on religion but on greed alone. Sorry for sounding like a broken record, I'll continue to sound like one whenever people make such baseless assumptions.

Toney,
Not all christist converts (orginally hindus) are bad. Some amount of Sanathana Dharma and Non-violence is still left in few Christists. It's mainly political greedy pimps like Oomen and Mani who want to help some pastor/bishops who have evil plans for 'cross' cultivation and ecological destruction. Toney, Karunakaran never looted land or temples as Maani or Oomen. Maani, Muthoot, Manorama, Missionaries, had already plundered (with cross) Kerala even before Karunakaran could loot!

Please read on..how the Vatican mafia is destroying our environment.

I personally think that those who were forced to convert to other religions during different times should convert back to Hinduism now. Otherwise, I have no problem labelling them as traitors who deserve punishment.

Toney,

If you take a careful look at all the activities of the white christists around the world, they simply go to the coloured regions of the world on "mercy missions" (read healthcare and education), stay patiently in the local communities to understand the prevailing situation, including social divisions, then strategize to perpetuate these divisions so that the people could be manipulated for the ultimate aim of plundering natural resources!! Check out Africa, South American, Phillipines, East Timor -- that is the game!! Hindus in India played (and are playing) into the hands of the white chistists. Note, all it takes for one or at the most two generations to accept the "message" of christ, which poor people will do for the sake of sustenance, then to perpetuate the divisions hatred in the form of propaganda (caste is a great example, as and are the distinctions such as dalits, animists, tibals) is generously used to maintain staus quo -- guess where these animists and tribals reside, in the forests -- easy now for the cross weilding Bishops and Archbishops to plunder the natural resources!! QED.

The part that is not very encouraging is that intelligent folks always try to equate a seemingly Hindu with a Christist. It is not a zero sum game. BTW Karunakaran is an commie and commies have no religion. Commies and Christists are hand in gloves in this rape of Kerala.

Well done, Toney! Spoken like a true Christist! You have completely demonstrated the so-called 'logic' used by Christists that Rajeev has talked about here. That is, paraphrasing Rajeev,

If any Christist anywhere does one good thing, that means all Christists everywhere are good, and that Christism is good.

Example: Your statement about John P. opposing Mani's actions. You imply that since John P, a Christist, did one good thing, Christism and all Christists are good.

Counterargument: John P opposes Mani because of some inter-Christist issue, or because he didn't get enough from Mani's loot.

Second piece of Christist 'logic': If any Hindu anywhere does a single bad thing, then all Hindus everywhere are bad, and Hinduism is bad.

Example: You bring up Karunakaran, and imply therefore that all Hindus are bad.

Counter-argument: Karunakaran may be a villain, but he's our villain, and we can take care of him, thank you very much. After all, he's been pushed out of power. Why is it that your Mani and the Kerala Congress and some Christist always have the revenue ministry regardless of whether it's LDF or UDF? Why aren't you Christists tired of these rogues and kicking them out? Answer: You Christists aren't tired of them, because all of you agree with the loot Mani is bringing to you.

Enough, Toney? Or are you still on the "We Syrian Christists are good Christists, it's all those others who are bad Christists" deal? Of course this is untrue. You Syrian Christist of Kottayam-Palai-Ernakulam are the worst of the lot.

"The only point I am trying to reiterate is, evil doers dont base their deeds on religion but on greed alone."

But Toney, Christism is based on greed alone, yes greed for resources and wealth alone. It's ONLY greed for money and ration which forced them to convert. Here a Christist minister is greedy for the revenue and law ministry and cleverly destroys our forests and eco-system for his Church expansions. Sadly the evil Bishops and Chandys have more loyalty towards the Vatican (kinda Taliban) rather than to their own country.

Also Toney, Karunakaran was a thorn to the greedy Vatican (Taliban) caucus who control Congress today -Chandy, Thankachan,Tom Vadakkan,AC Jose, Vincent george etc. Even Chennithala is controlled by a Dubai-Pala based Christist Thomason group - something like a D-company. Even if you look at the Kerala CPM, christists Baby and Thomas Issac call the shots! Whichever ministry comes, Syrian Christians will be there in the Planning board (now CP John, earlier Thomas Issac) to allocate forests, funds for their own people (please check the allocation of aided schools, colleges) and evict the poor Tribals. Evict the Tribals from forests using Govt. 'help' and use Christist NGOs to bark against Dalit atrocities and caste oppression while looting the forests for Churchists!!! 2 birds in one shot, eh Toney??

If Christists are not evil and intolerant to others, then how come able legislators like Vakkom Purushothaman, Vayalar Ravi(far far better than Chandy or Antony) are always sidelined ??

OK Shankar, now I understand. In a Hindu majority state, you have issues with elected Christians, some of whom have untarnished images. And it also seems, PalmOil Controversy is OK since that didnt involve any temples.
BTW, Karunakaran also mixes politics with religion, I dont think I have to enlighten you with what he did in the Ekm elections where Latin Catholics comprise a big number.

To the anon before Shankar,
I was only using Rajeev's philosophy of grouping evil and good. So, your response is proof that that logic is flawed? And nice try in twisting my words. When you are sobre, why dont you try reading what I wrote, just once more? Then you wouldunderstand what I meant.
And where is this "our villain, not yours" valid? By that same logic, let me take care of the Chandys and Manis ROTFL.

Toney Christist, you got nicely caught in that trap I set. I expected you to say exactly this and its ROTFLMAO time.

So you Christists will take care of Chandy and Mani? How, by pouring Manorama and Muthoot money into getting them nice cushy jobs?

But you Christists got rid of AK Anthony. He is the only good Christist in Kerala, probably because he is an atheist. You guys got rid of him, because he said "The minorities in Kerala have abused the system and become rich." This is the gospel truth. So you got rid of him.

But the Hindus did get rid of the villian Karunakaran as promised. He is without a job, and so are his beloved son and daughter.

Just goes to show, Toney Christist, that if there is a good person, you crucify him. Isn't that what you claim to have done to Jesus himself?

exactly anonymous. Christists are an intolerat and violent lot. Thei whole business is based on lies, so will cricify truth.
