obama albatross for democrats. and 'atlanticist' makes rare data error

jul 9th, 2010

obama's manchurian-ness has been found out, i guess. he's more concerned about NASA building (space?) bridges to mohammedans than about fixing the US economy.

i do believe this will be a stinging blowback -- dems will almost certainly lose the house of reps, and possibly the senate too.

obama effect: dems in deep trouble. and, rare error in economist chart (CA-3, CA-44 for repubs to hold?)

@theeconomist

usually the atlanticist's data is impeccable even though their conclusions and opinions stink. the writers are a bunch of snot-nosed young limeys pretending to be old, wise guys. and failing.

i am quite entertained to find a data error: see chart 2, top orange box, it says CA-3 and CA-44. which is it? 3 or 44 seats in california?

and further, the text says: "The orange block at the top consists of ten Republican-held seats the Democrats might have some chance of winning". how come 10 seats have bloated up to some 100+ seats in the box?

why the error? they supported obama all along, now they're running scared?

erratum: oops, i goofed. the atlanticist did not. what i  thought was the total number of seats turns out to be just the individual seats, ie it is not 3 seats in CA, but CA district 3 (and CA district 44).  thanks to HP for pointing this out.

the blowback is not due to the al-qaeda outreach, but due to the anger resulting from the wall street bailout (so-called stimulus) and the socialized healthcare.

american healthcare may be flawed but all its flaws come from the government component and all its positives come from the private sector. besides, every single socialist healthcare system in the world has failed so miserably that they are now lining up in droves in the private sector hospitals of india! imagine this - when india had complete socialism, indian politicians went abroad for treatment. now people like james astill and simon long want to be posted to india so that they have better healthcare access instead of languishing on waiting lists all their lives.

Its not an error. It's not how many seats republicans need, its just the district numbers, i.e., they need to hold CA district no. 3 & district no. 44. Similarly all other are not counts of the districts but the reference no. of the district.
