But, how can that be sane? It was written by a Christist!! so, it cannot be sane, right Rajeev? Or, am I smelling double standards here?

And yes, I'm a so called christist by birth.

some christists see the light and may even leave their cult. you are welcome to do so. a whole new world is out there waiting for you. you have nothing to lose but your blinkers. you can look up the nearest arya samaj in the yellow pages.

The point I’m trying to make is this. As far as I know, (and I know a lot of Xians, being one myself) most of the Xians (especially among youth) are very reasonable, sane people like the columnist George. Most of them are not regular church goers (or go only on their wives’ insistence). Even if they go, most of them don’t care what the priest preaches. And one more thing is in almost all of the mainstream churches, they don’t talk about other religions in derogatory tones. They are too busy soliciting funds for some building fund or other.

Most of us believe in God and not in the church. And I (and many others too) don’t believe that Xianity is the only religion and everybody else who doesn’t believe in it are doomed. I also agree that there are fundamentalist sects within Xianity (Pentacosts, Jehova’s Witnesses etc) who are hell bent on saving (bull) the non-believers. I am against conversions just as you are. I can tell you that normal Xians run away from them just as others do.

But, in your posts, you always treat all Xians as if their sole aim in life is to convert Hindus. You are not differentiating between a small fundamentalist minority and the majority. So, when I saw you agreeing with George, I could not help taking a jibe at you.

Jos,

Soliciting funds for some building or for bribed and forced conversions ??

>>they don’t talk about other religions in derogatory tones

Well, Really !! I have been to churches .. They may not be as rabid as the mullahs, but they do pass subtle comments.. And no, not on muslims, they are afraid of them.

Isnt this the same excuse that the muslims use ?
Well, its about number of incidents. You see, Christin population is 5% all over India yet you will read or hear about a lot more incidents of forced conversions by you than by us. Why such disparity? Do you think its a small fundamentalist minority? No, you are a small minority, Jos. The majority are fundamentalist.

Also, note that muslims and christians will always gang up against the Hindu, in any situation that demands it? Eg, Cedric "Gujarat genocide" Prakash. Even in common roadside incidents. A top of the head example would be an incident I saw few days ago. A christian auto-driver dashed his vehicle against a 2 wheeler, and a scuffle ensued. A few muslims came from nearby and joined the argument against the 2 wheeler guy, obviously a Hindu going by the chain round his neck and the red thread and a bracelet on his wrist. A christian shopkeeper or muslim shopkeeper will always give a better deal to each other, but will try to fleece the Hindu guy. I have personally faced it. I have never seen Christists being anti-muslim (afraid??) but I have seen many of them anti-Hindu.

Jos, if you are true, you are truly a minority, and not the other way round

Jos may not be a christist.

A christist is one who thinks christ is the only way for mankind and participates in enabling conversions in some way or other (not necessarily by open propaganda, it could be by grabbing more and more land for churches).
