MNCs Look to 'Make in India'

Various multinationals are now shifting their production operations to India:

Yes, I know we've all joked about the Chinese making "plastic dogshit", etc - but we Indians had better renew our respect for the dignity of labour, since the billion-strong Indian population aren't all going to suddenly turn into neurosurgeons and software engineers overnight. Manufacturing produces blue-collar jobs which are accessible/attainable by those with little or no education, and these jobs pay a lot better than begging on the streets.

So while Indians may be just now starting out making toys for Hasbro, this will then serve as the stepping-stone for eventually moving up-market to better and more value-added exports.
