sanskrit devanagari

aug 15th, 2009

is there a simple way to transliterate english into sanskrit?

i don't mean just into devanagari, because hindi devanagari is not the same as sanskrit devanagari.

eg. राम would be 'ram' in hindi, but 'rama' in sanskrit. to get the abrupt consonant ending, you need to have a halant "\" in sanskrit. how can i get the halant so i can write correct sanskrit devanagari? gmail gives hindi devanagari but not sanskrit devanagari.

You can use ITranslator 2003. It is specifically designed for Sanskrit. I use that for my blog and it is really nice.
