Swapan Dasgupta thinks NRIs must from now on be royally ignored. I think he is referring to people like us on this blog. Read his blog in the Toilet Paper:
yup, all these hyper-nationalist NRIs! what business is it of theirs to comment on what happens in india? they are supposed to just send money, didn't you know? :-)
i am disappointed to see swapan -- a very insightful guy in general -- talking like a kkkangress weenie. what, he has been converted and brainwashed?
I think his NRI article (http://blogs.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/right-and-wrong/entry/how-the-non-resident-indian) should be looked in the context of his last week's article on Conspiracy Theories. http://dailypioneer.com/194685/Conspiracy-theories-good-for-laughs.html
Just as he suggested his readers to ignore Conspiracy theories, he is now suggesting his readers to ignore NRIs royally. Is it because he thinks it is the NRIs who are spreading all kinds of baseless conspiracy theories (as absurd as Truthers and Birthers of USA) who don't have any on-the-ground knowledge of Indian political realities?
He reminds me of the story about the frog in the well. He probably is rooting for a BJP minus the RSS, which wont be any different from the Kaangress. His blog is indeed silly.
What happened to Swapan? He used to write meaningful articles. Now all he does is write generalized crap about a group of people, and everytime they are 'best ignored' as per him. Has he run out of topics, or got a little offer from someone? Does he know which audience most appreciates him, or used to? Has he become insane?
