i always thought nrega stood for "national employment guarantee scheme for kkkangress cadres". looks like the comrades thought it would work fine for their cadre as well.

I dont know, if the architect of this program have any common sense in them, or they have become insane..
The NREGA is the last straw to break the horse's back.. the state of agriculture in india was already stressed, and now with NREGA, a bulk of farm labourers are moved towards unproductive, unrelated works..
Now remaining farmers had become more stressed due to non-availability of labourers.. the result, their lands would be converted in to real estate, or they will plant some long term trees, which doesnt require any labour..
Atleast we had done this.. we moved on to drought resistant trees and stopped agri..
Sometimes i feel, the very fundamental purpose of this NREGA had been malicious.. i suspect, this is an attempt to drive away both farmers and labourers, and then give the bulk of the productive land to big corporates, in the name of special agri zone..
Such Special agri zone might be setup citing the agrarian crisis, artificially created..
Today MM singh had announced the agrarian crisis.. and probably tomorrow, he will facilitate FDI in agriculture, thus selling out our precious land to foreign companies.. after all, he is a PM NOT for indians..
