The Professor is absolutely right. While Rome was burning Nero was fiddling, the same can be said about our elite in the Media. Perhaps it is the price of reduced import tariffs on newsprint.

While these Media Barons and their puppets are busy with 'Pub Bharoa and pink chaddis' the globalized world is grappling with severe crisis, Pakistan is being taken over piece by piece by Taliban. These people are merrily partying and chanting 'Jai Ho'.

Shame on them.

I like the DDM (Desi Dork Media) and will use this phrase - acknowledging the prof's TM of course.

if I had the money - I would start a C-SPAN type channel in India. simply produce programming on the cheap by recording events / seminars / conferences and re-broadcast them (subtly biased toward the conservative tradition of course). that way you fully bypass these loud and uncouth TV anchors.

incidentally - when cable tv first started in northern india there was a problem of the local cable operator broadcasting pirated movies on a local channel that he controlled. it led to rotten Bollywood loosing revenue - but I wonder why that cannot be extended to public affairs programming. Why can't cable operators in Bangalore simply tape and broadcast this video on conversions instead of pirated American wrestling

Hat Tip: thanks to Sandeep of sandeepweb for recording the event and putting it out to youtube.

great suggestion. I was thinking may be start with a Radio station first.
There are many vides on you tube. http://satyabhashnam.blogspot.com/
has many videos, which will be eye openers to many people. I was asking him to do translations to local languages.
It would be a good idea to create a website as pointers to these videos.

Ghost, DDM is a common term used at Bharat Rakshak forum, where the Prof. also occasionally posts. Not sure if he invented it.
