The doom is gloomier this time because there is nobody like the understated Narasimha Rao in the political spectrum (I include all parties here). That economic assassin Chidamabaram has destroyed what Rao painfully built - yes, it was Rao who built it and not Manmohan the government worker. It is well known that Manmohan took the same socialist budget to Rao - who promptly told him to go back to the board. By letting Manmohan take credit for the resurgence, Rao neatly deflected any criticism from the party cadres (who were losing in the open economy after all). The only problem was that Manmohan actually came to believe in his own, non-existent magical powers!
